Thread: Chat with a Ranger about T21 and HAM

All righty a little about me so you know where I'm coming from on this one. I'm a Ranger on my way to mastering Rifleamn. I tend to hunt unbuffed and unarmored. I've learned to live with brandy but that's about all I'm going to to be useing food/drink wise. I've worn out one fair T21 already, and have a 411 7.3 one now that I'm hopping will hold me out while I master. Now that the new toy factor has worn out I tend to use the T21 only when its called for. I'm not compleatly ignorant of the ways of crafting, I mastered artisan back in my scouting days to build up my bank for the grind to MR/MR. While I was at it I dabled in WS just to get some insight.

Now I'm hoping to get some input on what could be crafted for me when I'm ready in the way of a T21 that was fair damage but a little lighter on the HAM (or a lot). Wouldn't mind the ideal range going up a bit to. I think the HAM part explaines it self. The reason I'm contemplating a higher than normal ideal range mod is as a unbuffed ranger /concealshot is how I take down a lot of criters, you don't want this shot to miss Not sure how much I'll care about that when I've mastered rifleman though, plus I have the ranger to hit vs. creaturs bonus so I'm up in the air about that.

I also have 3 of those Form-Fitted Weapon Stocks from the Imp park.

Any thoughts?

Yeah I think with the CU you will see the move to better range and HAM over damage.

A FF stock and an advanced rifle barrel is probably the best you will do for high accruacy and low HAM

you can't put a scope on T21.

You might want to consider a Tenloss rifle as an alternative to the T21, alot higher accuracy, better damage type acid, and quite abit easier to enhance with krayt tissues.

Point taken on the Tenloss. I've been playing around a bit and looking ahead into the skill tree and I can say that the ideal modifer bonus of the Form Fitted on its own should more than cover me with my criter to hit bonus. Actualy it should be pretty sweet. lol

I supose at this point I'm just kind of wondering how much one can reduce the HAM on one of these things. I know it's a odd ball request. And where and how much one pays for it in the other stats. Any one ever try it? How did it work out? Sort of asking to have my cake and eat it to I know, but for some situations it would realy fit with my play style.

I think generally you are looking at losing10-20damage and .25-.5 speed per 1 point of HAM drop.

its a very bad trade off and thats why noone does it.

The biggest way to drop ham on a T21 is to leave off the stock. Of course, you're going to lose that 40 damage on top and bottom. You can also have the weaponsmith experiment the barrel for HAM after he has maxed out the damage line.

But, the T21 has a very high base HAM so it'll still be high.

There is no HAM on a barrel

Good point. I've only ever done damage and range on a barrel anyway.

The FF stocks will help alot for the HAM costs on the weapon. The one i made for my CH/Rifle toon i can use with out bufs tough damge on it is low as i experimanted on the HAM and acuracy as it was a grinding wepon and its speed was nice at combine.

I suspect that if you had nice krayt tisues and add the FF stock it would make a sweet T21.

Ok what are the normal stats on this stock that I would be losing 40 on the high and low? Like how much ham goes with it? Cause I was hoping there was a use for these Form-Fitted Weapon Stocks I siting on any way. I'm not looking to have a low ham T21 just a lower ham T21 One might say ham optimized.

Like what's up with this T21? Click

The speed is just crap, the damage I would be absolutely fine with, when I saw the ham I nearly cried... if only I could have one so low.

Any ideas about this one? the range stats are all weird. Ideal range 0.0? This from the beta or something? Perhaps I'm just stupid?

Any way I'd love to hear everone's ideas, I'm used to people in this game telling me I'm stuipd or that something isn't going to work. I get proven wrong just enough to keep me from geting cocky. I'm right just enough to not give up.

I had to buy a factory just to keep up with my CDEF sales as an artisan. I've just taken on a n00b crafter to keep the bazzar stocked with them for me, cause I don't have the time to restock them 3 times a day. How did I end up doing this? Someone told me it would never work...

Looks like its from beta, first few months of the game on live T21's were higher damage than they are now, like in the 700's I think with a good slice, the one in your picture was probably made under those conditions with poor resources and thats why speed is so low.
