Started the WS grind almost 2 weeks back with a small practice macro and a mountain of metals and steel.

Today I will reach Techniques 3 and have Advanced FA crafting. No munitions or melee as yet but I will prolly leave those till last.

0,2,0,3, to make it simple to comprehend.

Along the way I was just considering how some of the fist MWS on all the servers managed to get there (especially with the lack of a Practice option for the 1st 3 weeks) and how they afforded the vast quantities of resources required.

Most of all I am interested in how long it took them, or how long it has taken you.

This thread is posted to try and encourage some of the novices who are looking at that skill tree and questioning their sanity or their ability to reach the top of it...

might also add i had 10 heavys pumping steel for me and bought even more steel for 1 milljon credits. So its not exactly a fair judgement i had some help. As long as you got resources it goes real quick

2 months and counting. At 4-4-1-4 now. Using apractice grind macro for projectile rifle barrels, and bringing in /financing99% of the grind on my own. Only 95K more steel left to go, woohoo.

Just completed 4-4-4-4 today, totally funded myself, now just need to get 400AXP.

From the time I decided to bea WS to Master - 1 month, only because I had also just started the game and had to get harvesters and such. If you want to finance yourself, get 6-8 medium minerals and run them on about 80% steel. It will take almost two weeks to get the steel that way. If you already have a binch of money and heavies like the colleague above, it's much faster. The grind? Piece of cake.

Took me about a month. Spent a lot of time first 3 days and got 0-4-0-4 really quick and then just slowly when I had time got the rest of it.

The first half was easy (0.4.0.4) just used some mediums on steel and it was all strraight grinding interupted by the occaisional mission grinding as well to fund myself etc. the rest is going to take a while (1.4.0.4) as about this stage I realised that I could not afford to miss High Qual and Rare resource spawns so I am not able to harvest as much grinding Steel as I would like and quite often just plain run out of the stuff (one medium really does not bring in that much when you are grinding) that and the mission payout nerf has meant I now have to spend more time running more misisons to keep the harvesters I have going.

i'm at 2,4,2,4 and have been at it for about 5 weeks. up untill recently i was completely self funded and was running missions to maintain my harvesters and upgrade them. i bought 3 mediums, and recently had a master architect from my guild donate 3 more, so things have picked up. hopefully i'll hit master this week or by next weekend. of course things would have gone a bit faster if i'd had the macro from the beginning and hadnt been making low end complete weapons lol.

Took me about 3 weeks, -but- I had about 1/4 of the tree done before I started. Could actually make money those days

Been grinding about a month (don't remember when I started). I'm at 3,3,1,4. But for a while I was taking my time with the grinding and collecting a lot of the other resources I'll need. I started serious grind ing a couple weeks ago with 3 meds pulling in my grinding steel. Hopefully I'll be done in a week or two. I've already got the Axp so I just need the steel.
