Thread: Reapairing weapons ??
How do you repair a weapon without it FALLING apart?
The last 2 DX2 pistols I have had fell apart the first time I tried to use a repair kit on them!
You get this lovely little mesg: You've completely failed, the item falls apart!
Do you just use the weapon till it falls apart, or do you repair them every 1-2 point condition drop?
The first time it had dropped about 25 condition points, the 2ndDX2 it was only 10 condition points.
This is of course total bs that a weapon just falls apart on theFIRST repair.
And both weapons were over 900 condition!!
If the design of the game is to piss off as many players as possible, I think its working as intended then.
I totally agree with you , REPAIRING DOESN'T WORK!
I have caned 1 x fg pistol, 1 x laser rifle <<<< GUTTED! 1x Scout blaster & 1 x DL Pistol. Totally decided to run the guns into the ground instead of repairing. The DL pistol was brand new and had 2 points off and it fell apart!
I loved that laser rifle *sniff*
Repairing Weapons does work. It would probably help to have a Master Weaponsmith Repair the weapon thou.
I repaired an FWG5 Pistol that was down 50% in Condition and using a Newly Created 95% Functionality Weapon Repair Kit (*After Publish*) it was fully repaired with no blemishes.
the Repair kits also look different now, and No longer take Optional Items to create the item. So, Find a Master Artisan, Have him Make you a Few Repair kits fully Experimented.
Now, Prior to the Patch, I did Repair a Scatter Gun that down to 9 points left in Condition and Repaired it, but cause it was so low, it had Removed the Extra Damage from MAX and reverted it to Base Max damage. So beware.
Repair your Weapons at 50% or higher, dont wait, andUse a Master Weaponsmtihg.
Wabbit Season of Bloodfin
i'm a master WS and weapons are crumbling with my +72 repair tools.....
I think it's bugged.. I wanna try out a couple more weapons before i report it tho.
Mook
Sci I had thought from reading the boards here and talking to people in game that there was NO skill check, it was all done by the repair kit. People said that anyone can repair a weapon using the weapon repair kit.
But your saying that anytime you need something repaired take your kit & weapon to a wc to have it fixed?
Whats the point of having kits then if you have to find a wc anyway?
I'm guessing its out of the question to ask a dev, since they cant/wont tell/share with us some of the basic info about certain parts of this game.
Do the devs even talk to each other about this game?
Starlord - I do believe it was mentioned in the patch notes that artisans will have bonuses to repairing items that fall within their field. I won't go looking for it but I know it was there. It wasburied deep in themassive chunk of text. The instant I logged in a had a bunch of repair requests so other people saw it too I am guessing.
With all due respect - did you actually read the entire patch notes before blasting off about no communication? I'm not saying they're not bad at it and they surely have had their dooziesit's just this particular instance they *did* mention it and you just end up looking silly ![]()
remember the other.
I used 92 effectiveness repair tool, with optional control units and droid
storage mechanisms, even though those show no obvious advantage.
I make the customer confirm a disclaimer before I do it so that if they
decide that they think I ripped them off, I can just send them the
screenshot.
To be honest I don't really like doing them, but my one customer thinks there
might be a market for 2nd hand repaired weapons.
for any lower level WS out there, might not be a bad thought.
ive done a few guns with a 75percent repair kit
I repaired some with minor blemishes
I repaired some with stat loss
havent destroyed any yet
repaired a gun with 100/900 sumthing or another
deathrobe
Master weaponsmith
What am I saying, as a smith, dont repair, let it fall apart and come see me for a new one.....
I'm 4/4 on Repairs post patch, using a 92 Effectiveness Repair TOOL. I think the important thing to realize is that there's a new item used for repairing. Pre-patch, tehre were Repair KITS...now, there are Repair TOOLs. The Tools don't take optional components, so they're very easy to make and use.
I beleive that the problem with repairing weapons with very low durability is that you totally kill the max condition on it. I brought down a Scout Blaster that was 200/890ish to 590/590. So, from what I've seen, lower the condition, the lower the max is gonna come down.
I want to do a little more repairing, but soon I will start to offer free repairs on weapons I've made. Seems like a nice thing to do for repeat business.
They said under 50% will have a higher chance of failure.
And that weaponsmiths will have better chance to fix guns.
And yeah new tools have a new graphic. But even with a 99% tool, I got one minor blemish repair, and one repair that went bad.
I wonder if they even put in the repair bonuses. Just cause it's listed in the patch notes doesn't meant it's aactuly in and workig.
OK, I appear to be the only one curious enough to actually do some experimenting. I jumped on the bazaar and bought 20 damaged weapons. The weapons damages ranged anywhere from 100DP to 600DP. I was 18/20 with a 95% repair kit. That's 18 positive repairsone fall apart, and one weapon wasn't repaired. On the one that fell apart it was something like 190/850, and the one that wasn't repaird was 300/900.
I then bought 10 more weapons and used an unexperimented 28% repair kit. The results? You guessed it 3/10 good repair results.
So kiddies the lesson here is experiment those kits up. Be a Master Weaponsmith. 75% repair tools are not good enough. If your a Master Weaponsmith and don't have 950+ conductivity metal.. Well, I don't know what to say.
