Just went on a hunting trip with a group on Dantooine. Managed to kill everything in sight no problems. We had pets and brawlers so none of our ranged people were taking much flak. Looking down the group list guess who is the only person with a dangerous looking HAM status?

Yup, me, the rifleman. My mind is nearly empty from using my rifle yet everyone else is perfectly ok. I may be dealing damage that cant be healed but Im also taking vast amounts of damage that cant be healed, I cant even be raised from a MindIncap. Doing Mind damage is also only of any use in PvP.

Also, why do I have to take vast amounts of mind damage when using attacks such as Flurry that hit random pools?

Grr!

Migrate massively and use Gabaki. Not Muon: the incap is too devestating. With a proper migration and a dose of Gabaki, I never even see my mind bar move.

I use 33 mind/16 speed powerups, they're quite good for non-master rifleman. If you have mind primary, you can only get speed and min damage (and some other useless things) as secondary.

Well, I was doing some research last night, resists don't really make that much difference compared to the HAM costs on your rifle. Talk to a weaponsmith about getting a T21 with low HAM costs to use as your primary group hunting weapon. You'll be amazed at how slower your health bar drops. Also, don't use drugs for group hunting, there is always a downer, even with food that will devastate your bars for the duration of the downer.

So, in conclusion, max your mind bar, put around 600 in focus, and AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE in willpower (this is the bread and butter of a mid to low-level rifleman)

And your levels are lowest because most people are medics and hit themselves with Stims during a fight (pets don't use HAM, to my knowledge, for attacking so its not an issue there). Believe it or not, a rifleman burns his HAMslowerthan a Pistoleer or Carbineer (I've dabbled in all as a Master Marksman/Novice Pistoleer) They're plugging off 40 HAM (FWG)action base specials every 1-2 seconds, which blows through their bars insanely fast.

At Master, its alot harder to keep those bars up, plugging 80 HAM shots every 1-2 seconds, but you are doing insane amounts of damage during it (If someone wants to debate the Damage/HAM issue, I found one error in Volsted's Guide that shows Rifleman as the most effecient of the elites (not hybrids). Rifleman are the most effecient damage/HAM cost out there. They just don't get stims to heal, unfortunately) For masters, once I get there, I can try to work on some way to keep a Master's bar high, but as of now, I'm not really sure how to approach it.

No Food/Spice isn't the answer sir.

Riflemen should be able to fight without them like any other class in this game. Insane HAM costs are our number one issue. But well we are focusing on mob warping, which is going to get fixed anyway.

Exactly.

I have done full stat migration and am using mind reducing powerups, but in my aboveexample I was the only member of my group being crippled by my weapon and that doesn't seem right, its not like anyone else was even being slightly hampered by HAM costs.

Even the grauls we were fighting weren't hitting my team members as hard as my laser rifle was hitting me!
