I seen a post a while back about influx of weaponsmiths. It hadnt effected Eclipse yet so I thought nothing of it.
It seems to have hit Eclipse as a latest craze. There are about 30 new WSs on the server all fighting for scraps of ancient resources. About 4 or 5 constantly sending me tells when i log on either asking for something or advice. When experiment tapes go on trade forums they are bought out within minutes.
someone paid a high B/O within 1 min of a +4 exp bandolier going on forums lol. Mustnt know about the toolbelt.
I dont mind giving advice but a few folk asking all the time for resources can get irritating.
Just wondering if the weaponsmith boom settled down on other servers or is still going strong

I see quite a few new smiths on my server too, especially now with the krayt tissue boom. Tissues do a good job of masking subpar handler resources. Only once when I was coming up through the ranks did I ever ask another smith for resources and that was for some neutronium and I think I either posted in the forum or sent a mail. Sending a tell is pretty much an automatic no. I'll admit I'm pretty stingy with my resources. Everything I have I either mined or in a few cases found some old resources scouring every vendor I ever came across. If they want a small amount of something just for personal use I'd try to help them out but I'm not a resource dealer so unless I have something I want to get rid of I'm not really receptive to selling any of my best resources.

one thing I have noticed on ahazi is a big influx of rich new weaponsmiths - i had a couple of mill when i set out a year ago - but lost of these new guys have loads of cash and are entering straight in as 11/12pointers, and maintining the high price of loot parts on the server as they seem to have lots of cash.
I think the jedi alt thing is right in many instances, coupled with the potential bonanza of CURB.
I dont worry about it, as no-one has right to stop anyone else playing a profession..... I also have a theory that when the CURB does come out - people with more than one character will be so busy playing combat that they will only have time to craft weapons for themselves and maybe a few mates....
Us old timers will still be busy I reckon....
I have noticed a significant drop in business for my own shop over the last couple of weeks tho.

We have noticed the influx of new smiths on our server, but to balance it out we've also lost alot of our long standing WS's. We're on one of the smaller servers(valcyn) and we lost our top 4 Weaponsmiths in the last month or two. There is really only one long standing weaponsmith left to provide the majority of our server with good quality weapons. There are a few newer smiths trying to get a piece of the market now and also several of us custom order smiths still around as the changes seem to have little impact on us
.
I expect that we will have a major shift in the crafting professions(likely all of them). Changes are coming and some people will like them and others will not, and many like me probably won't care one way or another lol.

Don't worry, the new smiths wont last. They just think they can make millions of selling grenades. Hopefully they will go away.

im one of these new ws, i'll never sell nades unless some guildie keeps on - my resources are prolly as good as anyother ws, been collecting for 5 to 6 months paying what is needed to secure the old rare resources, have everything good enough to complete with the old ws apart from knowledge and experience, got factories and factories of krayt and gorax enhancements alone.
i think i will last

Seriously, QFE. I've seen crates of C12's with 5.0 speed and 600 max damage, and these new WS's dont realize that people want quality and quantity for the cheapest price.

All in all, they'll be gone soon enough, the ecomony has it's ways of chewing up and spitting out newly mastered professionals.

There seems to have been a bit of a WS boomon Infinity too. Maybe it is linked to the Kraytexplosion with players thinking that they can make a fortune now they have a ton of tissues. Perhaps we're the new FOTM!!!

I've noticed a lot of new people sporting the WS title on Corbantis. I don't know if they're Jedi alts, or people trying to get rich of off grenades or people with house loads of krayt tissue. I haven't really noticed a decline in sales, so I figure most of them will try it for a while then switch to something else when they realize that WS takes effort and isn't a guarantee of instant wealth.

i'm a new Weaponsmith, and yah i have made a bunch of money on gernades, but i am specilizing in the crafting of carbines. i've spent a lot of credits and time finding the best resources around to craft the best quality gernades. i'll probably only craft the best enhanced carbines as well as gernades to get some extra cash.
started before the krayt boom, i've just always like the idea of making things that a lot of people will use.
