I did the same thing, coincidentally... My best weapons are 2h swords (My main is a swordie)
I agree though, there are a bit of new faces out there... it's not too bad though, someone's gotta make the grenades, because lord knows I'm not.

I think one reason there are a lot of new ws is the krayt boom. Either it is people thinking "oh now I can earn a lot of money on krayt weapons they sell for millions" or it is people thinking "Cool now when I can get a lot of krayt tissues I can make myself some great weapons myself and maybe earn some money as well".
Have nothing against either category, they are all welcome. I have more than enough work anyway.
But one thing I don't like about the new loot drops is that they make bad ws look good. It is not an achievement to make a 350 max dam scatter with krayt tissues. You see the difference between the good and the bad (or more correctly those who have real good resources or average; assuming that they undertsand the basics) when making normal non-enhanced weapons. One extra damage point better than everyone else show who are really the best.
Is that gun made by the best resources and is the best that can be made or is it just a better than average tissue? Of course a trained eye can see the difference (just look at min damage etc) but for most people they will not see the difference.

200k / FF stock is reasonable. There is a limited supply compared to loot components. But if ws use them on any weapons they are no knowing what they do. IMO, shoudl only be used for FT/LLC and carbines for non-bh carbineer-

i am also one of the new WS. I started before the Krayt boom and am still only 2223. I am going slow because i want to learn the business before i hit master and start making weapons to sell. I figure if i grind out WS in a week and am now a master but know absolutly nothing about how to craft weapons the right way then it's going to get around pretty quick that i make crap and then when i do learn how to craft i won't sell anything. When i started the WS grind my main was sittin at over 5mil in the bank now i'm down to 1mil and i haven't bought a single piece of loot ( buying harvesters and paying on them isn't cheap lol) I just wish that some of these rare resorces would spawn so i could make some higher xp weapons.....lol.

ive only been a weapon smith for something like 3 weeks now, started cos i wanted to run a shop to sell loot, and i wanted krayted weapons without paying a fortune, etc. Also I realised how many shops i had been in that only stocked 1 or 2 kinds of weapons, when i needed another, so now my shop wont open until every vendor is stocked up with every weapon (possibly minus DE-10s (i dont have the barrels), modified rep blasters (no schem)). Im also keeping in check that my weapons are rougly average with other ones, but i THINK for the most part cheaper.

I don't know about that, I've seen WS coming and going over the last 9 months I am a MWS in infinity (I'm not talking about the big ones).

I'm still going up the WS trees (4324 currently - I'm going to grind out the rest with the Skevon gas that finally spawned yesterday) and I've had to get NPC training for each of those skills. I've stood asking for training for 30 mins once, and ignored - these WSs running passed.
And to the 5.0 600dam C12s... damn, I can do better than that already and I only have 7 points...
I know it's going to be hard for me to start competing - I've got the old timers to go against, with their stcckpile of old great resources, and I only have what has been spawning in the past couple of months.
Still, I have some good resources that I mined myself, so I can do a few cpu and still make decent profits for myself until I can afford the good tissues/etc and mine better resources.

i'm getting kind of a weird feeling now... I have had like 8 resource requests now from people i never heard about. And about 5 or 6 people wanting me to sell their nades on my vendors. And the buyouts on tapes etc blah making me crazy. i'm a small smith and kind of want to keep it that way. but with those buyounts i'll never get my 12points...(oh and i have been a ws since last spring.)

Forums filled with WTB WS Exp spams that are always bumped and +4 tapes selling as high as 8 mill
all a bit outa hand imo.
Wonder if its gonna be the new norm or if it will blow over
