Thread: so how many long time weaponsmiths are leaving over the merchant nerfs?

I would think this hits you even harder than the armorsmiths. Most of the well established smiths i know have well over 1k items on there vendor so that they have what people need every time. With this nerf comming you will only have enough for the first person stoping by your vendor looking for a perticular item. with just 3-5 of each popular item people that want a good slice will stop by and buy all of what they want for slicing.

Your a 12 point smith, figure it out.

besides I don't build 50 bajillion weapons for sale to make truckloads of money, this won't affect me at all, besides merchant is pointless and needs a fix, onlything they need to do is raise the amount of items per vendor for each tree, especiallymaster merchant.

Havent decided yet, have vendors spread on 3 different planets, selling resources and weapons, was checking earlier and between 6 vendors I have over 4000 items stocked. I have been trying to decide if I should just consolidate down to 1 location and do just weapons, but would have to pull all my harvesters in favor of factories and small houses to store items in. Which then presents the problem of then having to purchase all my resources from the soon to be dwindling number of resource vendors out there.

Think if the numbers that were proposed make it to live, will probably sell off all stocked resources and components, weapons etc. Drop my 2nd account and just go with a combat template for the one account till EQ2 releases.

I'll be staying - it's disappointing but I'll make due. Also, I don't believe those are the final numbers that will go with the patch - I'm betting it's a tactic so the Devs can listen to us complain for the next couple weeks and then say "Hey - we've been listening and know how upset everyone is so we're going to double the item capacities!" Those numbers will still be far too low, but I'm pretty sure they're low-balling us.

And for the record, my partner is a Master Armorsmith and it's going to hit him a helluvalot harder than it's going to hit me. I'll be limited in the numbers of each type of weapon I can load, however he'll only be able to get what - 8 to 10 full suits of comp armor on a vendor? That's going to be difficult....

i'll survive - it will be some work to do, maybe i'll have to close one shop

i only play 2-3 hours every day and between crafting and PvP I don't have time to hate the game... actually I still love it and I try to digest whatever SOE throws at me

okay, last year when I was mad because of huge bugs and credit dupes I cancelled my 2 accounts for a couple of months... then I came back and started a new life on one of the european servers

I certainly don't hate the game.

And I'm certain I won't quit over this, or even drop MWeaponsmith.

But it kinda makes Vendors completely non-viable for weaponsmiths, unless you dump combat skills, or whatever else you had.

I'm quite confident this is a 'low-ball' as people are calling it (what a weirdass phrase), and that their actual figure is much higher, and are just releasing this to reset the player-bases perceptions on what is acceptable.

Master Merchant is not an Option.

Novice Merchant I have, as I have two vendors (two different planets).

Even 200 items per vendor is too damn low.

The gas companies did the same thing. Remember when gas prices shot up...then after a while they dropped town to somewhere between the old prices and the jacked up prices...yet we were all happy because prices had gone down...despite them still being far higher than they had been.

A tactic invented by a spanish conquistador(sp)....doubled his mens marching per day for a while, then cut them back to 1.5 times what it had been and they thanked him for his mercy...but he had not only gotten that time of double marching out of them, but they were still marching more

I don't sell huge quantities daily, seem to be doing more big orders then anything else. So I'm gonna stick it out and see how it is, but I'd rather not drop swordsmen.

o ill be staying.....i just wont be stocking my vender anymore. ill jus make the weapons my guild might need. not that anyone would be sad that once my vender is empty it not gonna be restocked cause i dont sell many weapons at all, so there is no point for me to keep my vender fully stocked every 3 days when i could jus spend 3 days stocking it to over 500+ items and not worry for a month or so.

Meaning once your popular rifles sell out, you'll be left with thousands of weapons that nobody wants, so you end up pulling them off and destroying them anyway so you can list more rifles.
