Im not going anywhere, thats for sure. Only thing Im curious about is what happens to all the stuff thats on my vendors now when the patch goes live? (about 3000 items) They sure as heck better not go poof!!

they wont you jus wont be able to add anymore items till your back under your limit....

Meaning once your popular rifles sell out, you'll be left with thousands of weapons that nobody wants, so you end up pulling them off and destroying them anyway so you can list more rifles.

not thousands...more like 110weaponsif you amaster merchant. remember the ultimate max is 110 items per vender.

Yeah this is some B.-S.

First of all Now im gonna have to drop my only fighting ability (master rifleman) to take up the pointless profesion merchant to sell my items. Oh and whats this talk about only being able to have 60 items or so per vendor for low level merchants.... I sell over 400 items per day. If merchant was gonna be fixed it should have been done 10 months ago.

Lets add a lil more micro management to stocking vendors, not only do i have to load each item one at a time, now im limited to how manyitems i canplace. So i will have to stock my vendor10 times a day to keep them stocked. My customers dont come to my shop just for the high quality weapons they come because they know I always have what they are looking for.

And people thought the jedi patch was the downfall of this game, watch when you cant find what you need anywhere. Looks like the economy is gonna go to hell.

Its a pain for sure, but I'll get by just means I'll have to use the more specific vendors e.g. instead of ranged weapons, Pistols, Rifles, Carbines etc The knock on effect will be a much more limited Melee Weapon Selection

The bit that will hurt is the Resource storage I May have to use that spare house oh the pain *boggle*

SOE need swift sharpe slap for this change, there may very well be a very significant technical problem with database space. Theres a slight reduction and thiers evil crippling reduction like this. I know I'll get by but I feel mostly for the Tailors who deal with color variations etc which we Weaponsmith don't

Thought of the Day,

"No more telling Newbies to use the More Items button"

Please slow down on the slating the Devs just yet its not been introduced, please think back to the introduction of the Weaponsmith experimentation revamp they did listen to us and withdrew the change.

If you are completely honest with yourself you will have to admit that the merchant system was broken up till now...

merchants were often not more then glorified storage facilities.

ok i share your concern that the number of items on each vendor should be upped abit more (60 is kinda ridiculous) but i think it will not come to that.

i think the end amount will be something in the region of 100 items/nr merchants. so a master merchant could have 600 items on a vendor, but an artisan 100 items on a vendor.

and no.. im not a merchant...

Does anyone else find it "amusing" that this is the same thing they proposed 6 months ago.....

The Devs claim they want feedback but it's obvious it is just ignored.

I think part of the change is to make crafters NEED a second account or buy lots from someone else. Think about it:

1) Who only makes 50-100 Power Handlers (or any other component) at a time so they don't take up storage space in your house?
2) How many of you don't already have your house item number maxed with all the different types of resources you need?
3) Where will you put all the loot you collect to create some of the weapons? (Geo Cubes, Cores, Schematics, looted barrels, enhancements)
4) How many more lot slots will you have to give up to put down storage houses?
5) Will you now be able to offer those rarely made weapons most people don't use so you can have a good stock of weapons people do use? (ie Vibro Axes, Tusken Rifles, Carbines and Polearms)

Something to think about maybe

Yes, I am one of those with a storage vender in my house. It sits next to my crafting station. I store all my crated components, loot items, and general items I don't have room for because I need lot space for my harvesters and factory (1 factory mind you so making things like rocket launchers take forever).

I may not be a massive seller of weapons, but I do pride myself on being able to provide top-notch weapons whenever a guildmember or friend needs it. I keep my venders stocked with almost every weapon out there. (Currently 700-800 weapons on 2 venders) I already had to give up my combat prfession of choice (Swordsman) to get Merchant so I can place some venders to begin with.

I think the time limits for venders is a good idea. My town had empty/abandoned venders for months in it, it looked so bad and I know how much it peeved customers to keep opening up empty venders. I hate opening a vender only to see nothing.

I sure hope they're not proposing this kind of vendor change because players are simply too stupid to click on the "Next Items" button...

Dont' just think about the people selling. Think also about the people buying - there are going to be a hell of a lot more empty vendors out there, since all the popular ones are going to sell out quickly and buyers are going to be forced to hunt down items more and more.

I can only imagine that buyers are going to become frustrated fairly quickly. If this change goes in without some sort of galaxy-wide all-vendor search-and-purchase feature, then I expect many players to drop out of swg because goodplayer crafted items are going to be that much harder to find.

And thereby increase there demand. What happens when demand increases? Prices go up. Think 13-14k for a good laser rifle is bad? Try 20-25k when crafters know people will pay it rather than keep hunting for the gun.

That is nothing, I sell my laser rifles for 30k speed sliced 40k for damage sliced and I sell enough to run out if I dont restock every 5 days or so.

The fact is if I cannot stay stocked properly my prices will go up, I will not restock more than 2 times a week. With custom weapons, and wanting to actaully play the game, having a 600 item limit wouldn't hurt me too badly but I wouldnt want to be master merchant to have it. If they limited the items to Per Vendor (example you cannot have 600 weapons on 1 vendor but only 100 on 6) I would probably just switch to custom orders only and everything would be much more expensive.

i dont want to have my weapons spread across 6 venders! i want them all in one so its less of a hassle....since the devs are such freakin idiots and will most likely not listen to us when we say (even the merchants dont want that drastic of a change) we dont want that drastic of a change to venders at all!....since they prolly wont change there minds im gonna close down shop cause i do not want my shop to have to become a full time job in a freakin virtual world. im jus gonna use my WS abilitys for my guild since the devs want an ironfist grip on the PLAYER ECONOMY.

I will quit selling weapons to the masses.. and instead only craft for the guildies. keeping everything in crates in my 4 factories which combined can hold more than 6 vendors can with this nerf.
