Thread: Tusken Rifle: 450-700, speed 3.1, HAM cost 12-5-5, pre-slice, no power up
What do you think about that? In use it really seems to make a krayt enhanced T21, and therefore weaponsmiths in general, not very useful for a rifleman. I think this should be addressed or the weaponsmiths of the world will no longer have a stranglehold on the economy. I guess that's good in some ways, but I don't like the idea of krayt tissue and weaponsmiths dropping out of the high end game.
That was looted we are to assume? I thought all lootedweapons were supposed to suck pretty bad.
Yes, looted. A few days ago loot started getting better. The name of the gun is Tusken Rifle (Exceptional). Since (Exceptional) and (Legendary) weapons are supposed to be lootable now, I fearthe emergence of (Legendary) weapons.
Anyway, having these elite lootable items might give more incentive to kill NPCs when already maxed out on xp, but I think they're too strong compared to WS items.
On a related note, what's the current status of weapon repairing? How can a single weapon's life be extended most effectively?
I totally agree - the stat line on that is hardly credible. I hope that the drop rate on this is very very rare. And nothing to do with trying to keep a stranglehold on the weapons economy - it's just that the big draw was the fact that everything was meant to be player driven. I happened to like that.
This tusken rifle is just plain stupid. Thankfully the thing will have a limited life.
Since people improve while using guns that they are more familiar with, that possibly looted items will be better for whatever reason AT FIRST. BUT as you use a gun crafted by a weaponsmith, you slowly get bonuses to using that particular weapon. You will never get this type of benefit from non crafted weapon.
has a screen shot of this weapon been posted, if this is true, they better be one in 10 million drops. If they are as common as the other rare drop items then the whole weaponssmith community will be out of work in a couple months.
thats stupid nuts for a tusken rifle, can you imagine what a laser rifle or t21 would do, 1200 or 1300 damage ? this boggles me.
What's next, a 800 damage fwg, a 600 damge scout blaster?
No screenshots, but I've been killed by it with one shot several times. I was hunting with a friend when he looted it, we passed it back and forth, so I saw it. The speed is exactly as above, the damage is within ten points of the above stats. I'm not making it up, and I'm not trying to brag. I haven't mentioned it on any other forum. I just thought you should know, weaponsmiths, and protest this to the devs before we see these all over the place. I have no idea how common these are since we only got one, but I have noticed that loot in general has improved. Instead of getting base stat gaffi sticks, I now get sticks about 50% better than that. The (Exceptional) rifle also has +25 to accuracy while moving and +25 to something else, maybe it was dodge.
I agree that one of the draws of SWG is that the entire economy is player-driven. If we get Diablo in Space I'll be mad. For reference, I also strongly protest the current very high decay while using powerups and the decay on incap/death patch now on TC.
I'm a rifleman and would make many people dissapear to get my hands on that gun.
Why can't the Dev's come up with a system where high end loot is used to make guns like this.
Like a rifle barrel thats +400 damage, -3 speed,and -20/-20/-40 HAM
It's hard enough work to keep on absolute top of the resources. Planet hop. Survey. Sample. Hop. Survey. Sample. Follow density direction. Try build mine. Too many buildings. City hop. Survey. Follow density direction. Try build mine. Too many buildings. Decide to go in the middle of nowhere. Run, run, run. Get face eaten by angry red mob that spawns on top of you. Clone. Start over. Finally find an ok density 7 kms away from any city. Drop mines. Run back to town. Take ship, next planet. Repeat every resource shift. But the beauty was it was do-able. Didn't need ultra combat skills or the support of 20 people.
Then they bring in Krayt tissues, high velocity feeds et al. Try join a krayt hunt. Try hunt Nyms on Lok. Oh wait, I can't really do that all that well having dumped so many points into weaponsmith and surveying so I can do thisvery well. Stand around Krayts near death to try be the first to loot. Everyone on Nym hates you now, and you've not seen a feed yet.
Now what? They make guns that are absolutely staggering - not just a slight edge over and beyond our best work, but totally and utterly staggeringly better than anything we can come close to making - drop as loot! It'd be neat if it was maybe some extra damage, or slightly faster, or more efficient, even by 15-20% would make it respectable. But this? Three times the damage spec of a regular Tusken, half the speed, and one tenth the mind cost? And +25 to a couple of skills?
Why? What's the darn point now? Are there going to be exceptional PSG's? One that's got condition 1,000,000 and has special effectiveness 96% against everything - and everytime someone hits you it laughs at the them? How about an exceptional droid that has 20 turret mounted turbolasers and shoots nuclear missiles from it's butt while singing and dancing, healing your mind, and it also bakes 'exceptional' cake that heals all your wounds with one bite?
Argh!
