I just made Master Weaponsmith tonight after 3 months and seeing stats on dropped weapons like that just makes me want to cry

If thats a sign of whats to come with drops, I just don't know maybe I should have gone a combat class after all, but I've loved the player economy and crafting so much.

i just have to say, calm down, this doesn't mean anything

Most looted stuff is already half-broken down(400-600 condition) and there is only ONE of those. So out of about say 200 rifleman on your server, 1 has a good rifle that will degrade in a cpl weeks or so. Big deal it won't effect anything too much.

Jeez... calm down. Having a few things that drop in game that are WORTH getting isn't going to kill crafters. The loot rate in this game would have to be upped about 1000 times what it is now to make ANY looted items common enough to make a dent in the hold that crafters have over the servers. Chances are that the owner of that rifle owns several other rifles so they can cover anything they encounter... and eventually that nicegun will wear out... along with all their other guns!

I don't see the stats on this weapon being so out of place, what if you had resources with 1000 for each quality and 12 points to experiment with? I bet you would see phenomenal stats! Having one or two weapons like that around on your server isn't going to kill your business. This also gives players something to go hunting for, this game has very little to offer after you max your template out, unless you really like pvp.

LOL a drop means nothing. Now if they started turning up in LARGE number we have a small prob. As for ONE item... nah ... not concerned. Just wait to see if they break it on a repair. /shrug

dev's have already stated they are upping loot drops, not 3 weeks ago it would have been impossible to get an item like this because they weren't in the game. Once people figure out what mobs drop the most loot, it will become an issue.

As elusive as the holocrons are, there have been hundreds found already on most servers.Usually see at least 7 or 8 new posts a day on the server forums about folks that got one. You take that maybe 20 percent of the server actually posts and figure up what you have.

Only time will tell though, just have to wait till folks get over the holocron craze and see what happens when they all start hunting for these super drops.

Ye Gods......thats a nice weapon.

Just out of interest, what was its condition when ya picked it up?

Just for a laff, I think you should get it sliced and powered up

I'm not too worried about this providing that these kind of drops are VERY rare. I mean, if that is an "exceptional" rifle, I shudder to think what a "Legendary" T21 would look like.

Its gonna make my best krayt weapons look like CDEF's in comparison.

If these drops are common place....then.....yes.......its gonna totally screw up the weaponsmith profession.

Thx for the post McWatt.

mcwatt, if your friend has this gun, please get a screenshot of it

before we go on a tangent here i would like to see the screen. Basically we need proof of why we are fussing if we start ranting about this.

You're welcome. The condition was 749/750, and it's already gone down to 700 or so.

I'll ask him if he'll post a screencap.

Heh - like I said, if it was really rare, then sure no big deal. Sure, this is one instance so far, but already people are pouring in posts of other crazy weapons - like that laser carbine with over 500 damage, and on top of that delivers a 200+ strength poison.

It won't matter if these things are low durability if the drops are of a high enough rate that it can be replaced before it falls apart.

And there is no way even with 1000stat resources and as many experimenting points as you can dish that we can approach those stats, nor can we add stats to our guns, or make them deliver seperate DOTs. Experimented up to around 85% my Tuskens do 120ish-220ish/6.0ish. An extra 15% won't add 400 damage and halve the speed. Certainly can't reduce the HAMs while increasing damage either.

It's not a matter of money making - it's a matter of professional pride. We became weaponsmiths and spent time and skill points to be able to make the best possible guns there can be - and suddenly the reward for spending the skill points here is lessened - the skill points could have been spent in straight combat allowing us to get even better guns while having fun exploring new worlds, killing huge things rather than managing resources all day. How would you CH's feel if some 'exceptional pets' dropped that had a CL < 15 but had but had the special ability of splitting into 9 ancient rancors, but still counting as a single CL13 pet? You can control 3 at master, and suddenly a non-CH can control three times what you canfor nowork, which is exactly what these types of weapons are to weaponsmiths. Feel that your profession is robbed somewhat?

Yes I probably went over the top - it's early days yet, but to be honest I don't really have much faith that they'll remain rare. It'll be just like what happened to druids and wizards in EQ when suddenly the brainboxes upstairs thought what a nice idea it would be to put books that when you click on them can take you anywhere you wanted - I started my wizard way back when because of the lure of the fact I had unfettered mobility - then suddenly so does everyone else. Yay!

I just noticed from the screenshot that the rifle has Light Armor Piercing. Looks like (Exceptional) weapons can have improved AP as well.

Woot, I feel like an everquest crafter now. I CAN craft weapons, but why bother when **edit** that drops is better. Hell, I might as well just go complete combat and sell looted weapons instead of made ones.

Oh wait, I know, scratch that about going all combat. Between introducing lootable items and introducing the ultra camped FS NPC's for holocron drops...SOE is telling me that I should just quit now and wait for WoW.
