It has been my understanding that any Acklay Bones which produce a weapon with higher minimum damage than maximum are illegal. I currently have a set of bones which, although they wont produce a weapon with min>max, will result in a slim difference of 4 points between the two stats.
My question is whether any acklay bones with higher min are illegal, or if it is onlythe weapon with higher min that is.

If you check the knowledge base in game it states that the bones have to be fixed. Any weapon made with switched bones is subject to be deleted/taken. Go in and search under Acklay bones and double check.

The bones are not illegal. Only if the weapon made has higher minimun stats than maximun will it be illegal. This only occurs when making Stun batons.

Straight from the knowledge base search:
"All Acklay Bones that are unused and have reversed statistics must be reported to customer service through ticket submission (Player Character / Inventory) so we can correct this error. All weapons that have been generated using an invalid bone must also be reported to customer service for review. Failure to report any weaponry crafted from invalid Acklay Bones will result in the immediate confiscation of such weapons without reimbursement or warning."

So to be on the safe side I would have a CSR reverse the stats on the bone.

Yep that's exactly right.

I think what that says, and what csr's will actually do is totally different, I have spoken with a couple of csr's and they have all said if on the final weapon. I dont think they care to much

We have had CSR's on our server send reply's that the bones themselves are not illegal and that they can in fact be used as long as the weapon produced does not not have a higher min than max. The knowledge base is for general reference and typically is kept simple since most people reading it aren't familiar with the game. The purpose(per CSR) to having them switched is that a weapon with a higher min than max eliminates the mitigation and therefore gives the owner an unfair advantage. A weapon with a damage range of 4 technically still has mitigation even though very slim.
Considering they are both simply well made weapon I don't understand the distinction between the two but that has been the official response from CSR's. It's always a risk where you have something generally contradictive in writing but this has been our experiences so far. Hope that info helps.

This is my assessment as well. Given how little the average CSR seems to know about how crafting works, as long as the stats on the finished weapon are not illegal, you should have no problem. Researching a specific weapon to determine what components went into it to find out if it was made with bones of min>max is a lot more effort than a CSR wants to spend. They simply want to close your ticket, meet their quota, and move on.

Well if you guys say so just be careful. If you are sure there will only be 4 points different from the min/max be very careful on creation. You may get one of the weird success or failures that raises the min and not the max or something.

So a will a weapon with reversed stats always hit for the "min" damage exactly? That could be very useful for getting real stats on damage multipliers, resistances, mitigations, etc....

Well say you have a stun baton with 300 min dmg, it will hit for the 300+ dmg modifiers for the type of attack your using. So basically using the same attack you will hit for the same.

this has been any issue for a long while...any idea when they are going to actually fix, rather than just patch up their errors when they occur?? lazy devs...

Lol now that's funny. Do you really expect them to ever do that. Now I don't blame the Dev's per say. I blame the business department that has them constantly pushing new products out their ass instead of letting them work on fixing the current ones.
