I got a couple questions for all the people who claim they are makeing better weaps after the patch

1 are you looking at the whole product or just the max dmg

2 did you use pre patch subcomponents

Reason i ask is first thing i did was make some guns i made the day before and first impresion was cool I got +4 to max and +2 to min on these Jawas over yesterday, errm hows speed cool .1 faster errm ok durability Doh! lost 105 and lost .1 on wound , oh well some may call it a fair trade off.

Then it hits me OOOOPPPs I used prepatch subcomponents hmmm ok let me go make an ADV Blaster barrel with the new changes.

uhg I dummped all my 11 points and still didnt get the dmg bar full ,end result -1 on min and max .13 slower than my prepatch, oh and lets not forget the lost 12 points on range.

Now just do a lil math and ya can see that lil boost i got initialy is gettin smaller and the spd is already going south, and i havent done the next subcomponent yet.

anyhow to cut it short and sweet the patch did good for artisan stuff and other 1 line no named ,no capped resource crafting but once you get into capped and named things go down the toilet quite quickly.

After messing with it for a few hrs and then reading some of the posts here the only conlusion I can come to is that all the smiths saying its Better didnt compare apples to apples ,all parts must be post patch also or yer stats are bogus for a comparison and I dont think ya did this cause thers no way you got better results on subs using capped named resources even with +12 exp It cant be done,

If yer gonna speak out saying You all whinned fer nothing you best do yer homework better and ya didnt

Well looky here another socialist resorting topersonal attacks on those that have achieved something they have not.

*laugh* Your achievement is shelling out for skill tapes. Wow I am soooo impressed. As for your personal attacks statement, your assertion that every person who railed against this change is "not as good as you". You opened to first shot.

So by your logic a new MWS could say YOUare not a better MWS than he/she u just have better resources than they do.

That is exactly what I am saying. Haven't you figured it out yet? That's what working in the same system aseveryone elseis all about. I am not so holier-than-thou to think that I am intrinsically blessed with magic powerfor having done it longer. The system is not that hard to learn.

And someone working up the WS trees could tell the new MWS that he/she is no better because they have actually made it to master.

Not really. In the same system, they have yet to achieve the same experimentation points. Capiche?

You want to craft withthe same resultsfor your efforts as someone who has madeefforts above and beyond yours? That is selfish, and unfair to weapon buyers. Why should the bar be lowered to the middle when we have worked hard toraise it?

I've been collecting resources, surveying planets every week, scoping out the best plots, experimenting with different components, see their effects, just the same as any other dedicated weaponsmith does. The difference nowis just the tapes. Do you understand yet? LOOT.

The tapes exist for every class look at combat classes. Their resources are weapons, ours are mined inorganics. If someone has better weapons, and skill attachments we all know that the odds are in their favor. Why should it be any diferrent for crafters.

Because it's not as critical for combat classes. No one will say to the rifleman, "You don't have +25 in rifle accuracy? Get out of my group". They will see 10-20 delta in damage, though. They will notice if suddenly their stims require 10 more medicine use points. They will notice if their armour either has a lot less effectiveness or has cripplingHAMencumberances. Combat classes with skill tapes won't cause that class to be difficult if not downright impossible to break into.

As for all this hooey about the economy being broken and this making it worse that is just foolish. I have watched the price of weapons drop like a rock over the last several months. My first flame thrower cost me 30k to buy. The ones I sell are way better than back then, and I sell them for 10k. The inflation is not in weapon prices, it is in loot. The reason for that is because too few people actually search for the stuff any more, yet everyone still wants better weapons. This crafting fix gives them better weapons but at regular prices. No one can meet the demand of an entire server, so you can throw out the monopoly scare rhetoric as well.

Economy is different on all servers. Prices have risen steadily on mine. And this regular prices business is the entire crux of barrier to entry for new smiths. Someone somewhere suggested new MWS can go 'start their career on the bazaar'. Well how about that for elitism. If 12 point smiths decided to raise their prices with the bar, that's one thing, but I don't see it happening.

I spent the credits to get the best materials out there from b4 I was a MWS,constantly harvest like crazyanything that is even slightly better than what I have, andacquired my 12 exp pts. Now I am sorry to tell u this but yes I am a better MWS than you are. The reason is because I looked for every possible way to make a better weapon and then acted on it while you apparently chose not to. It is called progress! If people like you were in charge we would all still be living in the stone age.

*laugh* Once again you seem to be operating under the assumption that you are holier than us. You think we all didn't harvest the heck out ofthe best things? You think we all don't go through survey hell? You think we don't all want to improve our weapons? We all work out butt off. All you did was make a few purchases and this makes you Jesus the second? Please. Oh watch, I'll lay down creds, and get to 12 point smith and suddenly we're level. I'm afraid shopping isn't a skill. Sniffing for loot isn't a indicator of how good a smith you are, sorry.

I bet u were one of those guys that complained about not being able to get holocrons. Then u complained that the jedi unlocking system was unfair. Now u are complaing that the bar should be lowered for u once again. Well I for one am tired of SOE dummying up this game to please the lazy cry baby players like you. Buy a playstation Mate, it is probably more your speed.

You lose those bets. I couldn't care less about holocrons. I couldn't care less about Jedi. I'm a dedicated weaponsmith. It's all I do. I spend just as much time working my craft and having a well presented, affordable, comprehensive store. The 'bar' wasn't lowered - it was artifically raised by a stupid system implemented in a stupid way. Your original assertion, compounded with your continual drivel about how you are God's Gift, that you are somehow intrinsically superior to other folks here, is laughable. You seem to think just because you got a +20 set, it automatically means you're more hardworking, more diligent, more meticulous in the craft is completely out of the park. Your only differential to other smiths with the same resource stockpileisthe tapes, and that is the bottom line. That doesn't make you special; it doesn't make a halo grow around your head; it doesn't make you an instant celebrity. It certainly doesn't mean you work any harder than others.

You bought tapes. Big deal. I bet that was such hard work and is such clear indicator of how much better you are at weaponsmithing.

And the funny thing is - I'm more than willing to say that within this experimentation system, clearly a 12 point smith will outperform a 10 point smith, but your arrogant assertion that that makes you so intrinsically superior because of this, and not able to just admit carte blanche that yes, it's only these tapes, other than that I am like the other smith next door - that I had to poke at. It's the direction that this is taking - reliance on loot - that crafters rail against.

Heaven forfend if TH actually meant it when he said he was looking into resource loots.

As an aside, to all those people who are complaining these changes will be removed - I'm curious - how many of you actively spoke against the change when it was still under debate? If you did - thenyour position is sound - however, I have a feeling most of these people just let it slide, then coming to realise first hand that their 12 points now means a big, big difference, jump out of the woodworks andpoint fingers, pretending like the knew what the entire deal was the entire time. If it had been a disaster for everyone, it'd be pat on the back, job well done, eh?

This just goes to show that some masters are only in it for themselves...what they deserve, and how big they want to inflate thier egos. No sense of responsiblity to thier community, "oh gee I can make my mon cal pee shooter have 2 more points of damage, screw everyone else". I can spit out more damage on pretty much everything I have made today...at the cost of other stats which are just as important in the long run... I can't believe some of you are crying about how you DESERVE to be able to add 2 more points of damage. And somehow we are the whiners? As an eleven soon to be 12 point smith I was against this change from the beginning I want to compete with other smiths, not have an unfair advantage over them. Selfish and self centered the lot of you.

How are your HAM costs on these new "much more powerful weapons"? How about accuracies? Some of you are as bad as a noob marksman "Speedanddamagespeedanddamagespeedanddamge!!!" gah you make me ill.

LOL, there I said what every skilled smith is thinking today.

I have yet to make a weapons today that isnt better than what I made yesterday. Finally a way to distinguish the skilled veteren WS's from the masses of macroing holo-smiths.

As Raph Koster once said, "The players don't know what they want." He is proven right yet again.

bull$h!t.. All my components with the exact sameresources and only 10 EXP points are 15-20% lower in stats then everything made before the patch. The only way to max them out is to get more EXP points.

Yeah well, that was the point of the patch man, to make it harder to max out weapons. But whatever, the whiners prevail this time, but don't think that this patch won't come around a third time, probably tweaked a little bit. Hopefullynext time the devs have some more balls and do what's best for the economy and game balance instead of giving in to the whiners.

No, that wasn't the point.

The title should be "Proof Gnosis doesn't know what he wants"

I didn't like this new system before the patch. Tested the system when the patch came, andnow I like the new system even LESS than before. All you had to do was some reading on the issue before and you could get a pretty good idea on the new system, not perfect but pretty good.

If this new system fosters such great "diversity" then where are all the new range, HAM, and Condition weapons? Show me even 1 good one that can compete with a dmg/spd weapon. If you can't then there is no diversity only the same thing with different degrees of quality.

Ok, I have listened to this whinning enough..

The statement of an equal playing field is bull turds... First, I craft about4 hours a day and hit the resources 2 hoursa day on average a day. Now, I also have a second character (2 Accounts) that slice all my weapons for me. So, I have my 6 hours a day in crafting and another 2 hours a day in slicing....

WHY THE SHOULD SOMEONE WHO SPENDS 2 HOURS A DAY BE ABLE TO MAKE SOMETHING AS GOOD AS ME OR AS MUCH AS ME?

If you say for balance then you are a socialist, and they should just remove the crafting system and let everyone buy their weapons from NPC's. I craft to make the best damn weapons in the game, period, I slice my own weapons cause I couldn't find a slicer to slice 300-500 weapons a night for me.

Why should I be punished because your a slacker? Am I wealthy in the game? Somewhat, but by far not as wealthy as the guy I paid 30 million to for some skill tapes.

So, before you start spouting socialistic concepts like "Equality" remember that this is a free economy, nerf this nerf that, I spent 10 hours crafting patch day, I made every weapon atleast 5 times to see what could be done with them. Overal, the weapons were less effective minus a few weapons that used resources w/ no gates. (I took advantage of the oppertunity)

To be honest, I didn't mind the new system, but I wasn't for it because it focused more on skill tapes and less on a mathematical crafter (YES CRAFTING IS NOTHING MORE THAN MATH, maybe thats the reason you suck, cause you haven't learned algabra in your primary school yet)

Well, I won't be reading this post so all you socialistic/democrat's out there feel free to flame me over not supporting a "Socialistic" or "Even play ground" system. I'm sorry, I'm a die hard capitalistic pig(I only support musicians, they are the most screwed over).

I doubt that they will do that. What about people that made Krayt weapons or other special enhanced weapons. Are they going to give them back? They will just let them filter out. May take a few months will filter eventually.
