Perhaps on the Tempest server you have a steady stream of ppl requiring new weapons, but on Corbantis, it's pretty well locked in and the numbers of wpnsmiths is ever increasing due to people with no focus watching a few with much focus make tons of money. Now, it's true that many will not stick with it, but I agree that your idea is tantamount to cutting one's own throat. If there wasn't such a static player base, or the servers contained enough players that you needed bump heads with the apprentice you've help lvl up, this would be truly sage council, but I don't want to help someone only to have them fighting for my customers a month down the road.

Why would you want to go into competition withyour apprentice? You don't have to.

Why would your apprentice want to leave u.....when he has all that access to the decent materials you have?

This is exactly what I've been trying to emphasise.....you don't have to be in competition with everybody!

Two Master Weaponsmiths working together for mutual benefit is much better than two Master Weaponsmiths working against each other for individual gain.

I mean...I'm not saying my idea is perfect....but...I didn't become a weaponsmith to sit in a corner grinding until I make master....and then sit there crying cos I don't have customers.....money isn't everything....after a while....money is irrelevant. I just wanna have fun...and help others have fun too.....thats what my idea was about. If I make money along the way.....wonderful!

My apprentice has just reached Expert Weaponsmith and our partnership is going very well indeed. I couldn't sell the amount of stuff I do without that extra pair of hands.

So....its up to you. Its just an idea that I thought I would share that is working well for me. But...I guess like you said....this is the Tempest server.

I love spectre's idea....... I hate just having to spend tons of time grinding it's boring but at this point there's no other viable way to make money cause all the ppl I get requests from only want the higher lvl weaps (at least when I had nov ws over my head) I could never make anything considering I only have firearms I (ok I admit I haven't grinded much but still this is the whole reason). This may be a part complaint but it takes a lot of money to run 4 harvs and a wind gen (at least 6k a day) and that's a pain regardless of how high you are on skill trees (on tat anyway) ecspecially when trying to go for commando and therefore not being in sub trees (pistoleer, rifleman, ect.) and being able to solo highend missions on dantooine or lok. I have friends but they aren't on anywhere enough to go group hunting. I may consider trying to get a ws to take me as an aprentice.I get around 8k-9k xp an hr making d17 carbines (the reg not short) but it's very hard to keep enough metal on hand considering you go through almost 6k ofthe main metal you use every hr or 2. I know of at least 3 ws shops but still I know ppl needing weaps alot just on tat (2 of the 3 are there) which is where I stay. Also don't let my # of posts throw you and make you think I'm just griping I read the boards throughly (this is my 1st time reading the ws board but I spent at least an hr or 2 reading this whole thread) and I read the commando board regularly........ I know the higher parts are bugged and need work but the novice ws need a way to make money and interact with the players who need weaps too. The thing with ws is they have to master weap crafting 1st before they can make anything halfway decent or even halfway sellable or even be able to give them away...... cause who will want sub-par weap even if they're free.

OK I have just read .. and saw only 1 topic of UXP.. I have made many weapons and they are are in use alot .. I get UXP for my crafting tools i sell but woopeee.. I am a WEAPONSMITH.. as soon as I bacame a Novice Weaponsmith the UXP stopped..

Please Devs. make this a very important issue in your game updates that you have almost every day.. put back in the UXP for the Crafters.. I am Speaking for all crafters when i ask this but as a a Weaponsmith we could sure use the XP when the shift is so Rare and the grinding is halted from lack of resources...

Am i wrong in asking for this from the Devs? I hope not, because it was stated that UXP is one of the forms of getting xp wether its crafting a tool weapon or meds its all UXP and i am not seeing it ..

I too have noticed the lack of UXP as soon as I became Novice WS! What's the deal with that? What happened to the line in the manual, the one about how UXP increased as crafting skill level increased, and that crafting XP decreased as crafting skill increased? That is what made crafting seem so cool to me, because it gives people a reason to make things that people actually want to get and keep using, rather than just doing the "practice" option and building and grinding away. I have sold many of the lower level WS weapons and have found that I've gotten ZERO weaponsmith UXP for it. Has this been addressed by the Dev's as something that they've found to be broken? Is anyone else running into the same thing?

My Weaponsmith UXP works just fine. Admittedly, like you say, it is a little on the slow side.

I have found the UXP updates occasionally as opposed to an on-going supply.

Unfortunately, it seems that you REALLY have to shift a lot of weapons for it to be beneficial. I lost count of my sales a long time ago. A lot of people have weapons crafted by me on Tempest. My UXP tends to get applied in approx 15XP amounts every hour or so. I don't rely on it at all....its just an extra bonus. I can get 60XP from a few mouse clicks on a rifle barrel schematic, which tends to make UXP a little irrelevant in comparison. So, looks like we are stuck with our "beloved" grinding to Master Weaponsmith for now.

Dunno if you've actually noticed....but the Adv projectile feed mechanism is NOT bugged at all with respect to stats. True, it APPEARS to be bugged, in that you can't get to 100% on the experimentation bar. However, if you actually look at the stats of the adv mechanism........mine are 3 times better than the normal ones. Which in my book is pretty good.

Hopefully the chem dispersion mechanism will be fixed soon. As I agree....that sucks!

1) Broken schematics - the entire projectile component line

2) Crafting station FR having little to no effect on crafting & experimentation bell curve

3) Crafting tool ER havinglittle to no effect on crafting & experimentation bell curve

4) Multiple components effect not stacking

5) Extra decimal point effects (-.45 speed effect from ABPH) getting rounded to -.4 -

Recommendations:

1) Fix the schematics

2) Fix the FR effect or eliminate it entirely

3) Fix the ER effect or eliminate it entirely

4) Effects should stack, but to a lesser extent, eg 4 x ABPH 10 20 -.4 stacks to 25 50 -.6

so, 25 = 10 + (3 x 10/2), 50 = 20 + (3 x 20/2), -.6 = -.4 x ROUND((3 x -0.05),0)

Whatever, you get the idea, come up with some formula that works

5)Drop the extra -.05 ...

Not sure if this is where I should put that, but here's an idea:

We can all agree that guns with more identical power handlers are harder to make. We can all agree that for example DX2 pistol should be better than FGW5. I think these guns should actually benefit from having multiple power handlers. I have heard this debate has happened already, but hear me out. I don't think the power handlers' bonuses should add up linearly. Rather, the first power handler would add 100% of its dmg and speed values, the second maybe 50%, the third 50% of the second one, so in respect to first one that would be 25%, then 12.5% and so on. With 11 power handlers on t21 you would get 200% more than base damage of a power handler. I guess the base dmaage for multi-power handler weapons would have to be reduced, but I think such exponentially smaller contribution of each power handler would still reward the people who make good components and also reward putting krayt tissue in wepons with multiple power handlers. Right now it doesn't make sense that FGW5 is practically the best pistol on the market because it only requires one power handler.

I made a table that calulates these number but couldn't post it here. The first couple of handlers contribute the most, yet the last still contribut some and might be worth pursuing. These calculations are based on each handler contributing 0.5 of the previous one. That can be increased or decreased, butI think 0.5 is pretty much correct. The contrib dmg row shows how much dmage based on a +36 power handler each unit contributes. Note that ona t21 rifle the cumulative damage increase would be 71, which I think is acceptable for such a weapon. With a crappy power handler of 28, the cumulative contribution for t21 would be 56 dmg. The speed column tells the same story.

i think such a system would be beneficial, as it would increase the value of multi-power handler weapons, which are harder to make anyway. It would provide more options for people to choose which gun to buy. right now the choice in

Greetings all. This is the first time posting on this message board..so bear with me.

I have have a suggestion to those that are grinding and complaining about no cash flow. After making novice WS,It took me two weeks of playing 1-2 hours a night to make Master weaponsmith. I would dedicate maybe a good 20-30 minutes of this time power-grinding projectile rifle barrels and the rest running delivery missions, destroy missions, or just killing stuff with my buddies. The other grind time was while waiting for a shuttle. In that 8 minute wait you can easily grind 40 barrels (or 3760wxp). Also while healing in cantinas, med centers, camps, or while following in a group while running missions. I was easily making 30K wxp nightly while still making 15-20K to keep my harvs running. Yes grinding is boring...no argument there. But don't get so strung on becoming Master overnight. Take some time to enjoy the rest of the game. I love PvP even though I'm on my back or in the clone facility ALOT!

Second item, Has anyone else experienced the vanishing vendor bot? Along with any inventory in it. I have lost two for no apparent reason and have gone to peddling my wares from the bank terminal and what I carry on me.

Other than that: I agree with the component and HAM issues wholeheartedly.

I'm a Novice Weaponsmith and I agree with the Master's Why should I be able to make the money that they are, besides even just making DH17 I was able to make a little money combined with running missions it was enough to get by. I have seen people throwing worthless guns on the bazzaar for a rediculusly high amount whether that is any Novice WS's or not that could be your problem.

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

What iswith the shift change! Ok, now they increased the amount of times they shift, however, the types of resources and where the high percentages are need to be changed.

I spent a whole day looking for a good place to setup a harvestor for steel on Tatooeine with no success. Sure, I found a couple of places that were high anough to even mine, but I cant mine in the city, on a hill, or on top of the harvestors that are already there! Please Devs, move the higher concentrations outside of player cities and towns. Try like out in the desert. Its been at least a couple of weeks since I was able to even mine steel. I cant move up the weaponsmith tree without steel.

And I would like to make any of the weapons---at least one--- that comes with the expert firearms skill. Since I've gotton the skill I have not been able to make any of the weapons that come with it becuase the resources needed for them dont exsist.

May the force be with you...always.
