i think this will be fixed AFTER combat rebalance ( in 2005? really? dang that sucks ) so we may be stuck with these for quite a while

TheCSR's ARE ONCE AGAIN WRONG!!!!



The fix sould be simple....


If we contact a CSR they should allow us to trade in our non-serialized barrels for barrels withserial numbers.



EZ fix...don't you all agree?



Remember Acklay bones that are out of range can be handed to a CSR and fixed...this should be a non issue and an EZ situation to deal with.


Excuses and canned answers are not acceptable.

Alright so here is what I think the dilemma is and the reason a quick fix isn't possible... When creating a loot or component you create an identity, this identity is very solidly hooked to its core programming on what it can't and can do. When berserker rifles were created they were created unserialed, don't know why, maybe they just forgot to open a database spot for serial numbers on this identity. Now with patch 9 it was suppose to go in and fix it so that all non-serial components or subcomponents cannot be used in crafting because non-serialed ones can be used to exploit the hell out of temporary schematics. The devs inner circle Q&A testing probably tested all the main exploitive components and enhancers to make sure that you couldn't use them, but what they forgot to test or check was to make sure that all sub-components or enhancers that we are allowed to use actually have serial numbers. So the dilemma lies within the fact that now we havea loot drop that doesn't have a serial and the coding for it must be a hard to change thing. As for CSRs switching non-serials for serials, well if no items of the type were ever created with serials they how in the hell is a CSR going to make one with a serial if its not coded into the game, when its krayt tissues or acklay bones, or power cubes, most of them have serials so it is already a precedented and set game mechanic, so the csr can conjur up a new one with a serial cause it is new and they usually come with serials.(spelling on conjur please )... Anyways if any of this makes sense to any of you all, good, hopefully it will help youall understand that this won't likely be patched till the mini-publish or the next major publish.


Oh, its late and I am tired, so please excuse the spelling and the big hunk of a paragraph above. I would have done some more grammatically correct ways if I wasn't so tired.

They haven't even reqognized it as a known issue from last patch.. I am more concered about them ignoring our correspondent, and our profession.. They take months to fix known issues, ones they dont even concern themselves with will never get fixed.

I can't really offer any optimism at this point. We're just sort of low-priority for the time being.


I mean, they've got like 4390324 people quitting over this Combat Balance crap that's never coming out, they've just promoted TH so they're totally swamped without another assistant and just in general it's a bad week.


This is a huge bug that isn't affecting only us, though, if all else fails I'll be sure it's brought up in public at the Correspondent Summit.

Thanks for all the good info on the game...new barrels are dropping with serial #'s....several have dropped recently on sunrunner...So...I should be able to trade in my old non-serial barrel for a new serialized one. If it drops a CSR can make it...If they can make it then they can make enough of them and let us trade them in.

Someone asked if I could make them one today and the first thing I asked was did the barrel havea serial # and they said no.


It really sucks to have to tell people, sorry, your only hope is to 'maybe' get a CSR to trade/make you a barrel with a serial #

Been waiting for months to get a Berserker rifle made after getting the schematic ages ago, just looted a barrel last night and it has no SN.

Please fix.
