I cringe when asked to make a repair now. Been telling customers to hold off on repairs until something is done but a few insist on getting the repair and then not happy with the outcome.

Just wish I had something definite to tell them instead of 'Repairs are bugged and not sure when or if it will be fixed'.

To be honest, I don't like the idea of weapons being repaired by anyone and everyone and having those repairs succeed most of the time. Usually the weapons people want to repair are the "Good" weapons. I.E. the ones that got the 35% damage slice, or were made with looted components, or are just plain hard to come by. All the other weapons are so cheap you might as well just take your chances yourself with repairing, and if it fails go buy another one.

These "Good" weapons should have a limited lifespan. Repairing them should not be as easy as buying a weapon repair kit off the bazaar and double-clicking it. Think of these (exceptional) loot weapons, which are in my opinion terribly unbalancing, do we really want these to last a while? Sure, the guy who owns it does, but everyone else is hoping it falls apart soon.

My suggestion is: Leave weapon repairs as they are today, BUT, give the creator of the weapon (assuming he's still a WS) a +50 chance to repair it. He made it, by all rights he should be able to repair it. This would allow WS's to set up a real service of both making good weapons and repairing them too. No one with a good, crafted weapon is going to repair it themselves in this case, and the WS can make money off of repairing his weapons.

The same should be true for tailors and armorsmiths.

Its been a long time now since anyone has asked me to repair a weapon. Im a masterweaponsmith and have not once had a minor blemish on a weapon repair using 99% repair tools, weaponsmith bandolier giving me a so-called +5 on repair mod.

If the developers dont plan on changing this, then they mine as well just take it out of my schematic inventory. Most people now just use the weapon until it does fall apart instead of letting a weaponsmith try and repair it knowing the condition will be lower then the actual damage in the first place!

COME ON! whats the point in all this?

Im feed up. If you dont want people to be able to repair weapons then take the stupid thing out of the game!

my krayt gun condition was just above 10% when I noticed the damage dropped below min. so I attempted to repair and got it up to 758 but the damage's still the same and didn't get up back to what it was originally. so I put in a min. damage powerup and it reduced min. damage by 5 makin' it just 1 below the max.

great!now it's legal at least. who cares it does damage of cdef haha

Let's hear the answer from the devs, they had months to prepare the answer for us, and a better one than "the test set was too small"...
