before when you looked at Rhodium you really didnt need to care too much about CD as the OQ would totally deminish the weight of the low low CD

now the CD will be come the most important stat as a smalle change in CD will make alot of difference in the weighing of the resources

example I also posted in the thread on the craft

If we for instance look at the kette plumbum Iron one and two we will see that with the new system they have switched places.
Old number one: CD 64 OQ 1000 (50/50 yielded a 53.2% max experimentation)
Old number Two CD 76 OQ 979 (50/50 yielded a 52.75% max experimentation)

Now lets look at them under the new system
Old number one
CD (64-1)/(82-1) = 77.778%
OQ (1000-1)/(1000-1)= 100%
(CD+OQ)/2 = 88.889%

Old number two
CD (76-1)/(82-1) = 92.59%
OQ (979-1)/(1000-1) = 97.898%
(CD+OQ)/2 = 95.245%

I just want to comment, as I've found that apparently all the "perfect" resources I've collected over the last 2 years are now worth precisely zip. I work 45-50 hours a week, I also carry a 16 credit courseload. My WS character has already started to feel like another job, not a source of fun. This causes my "fun" in running my own business, managing production, resource gathering and allocation and the like to become a 25-30+ hour per week job, for which I don't get paid, but I pay a subscription for.

The long story short is that this creates a much larger rift between the casual player and the hardcore powergamer. Only the latter group will be able to efficiently manage a crafting character. There is too much of a time investment involved to really be competitive, and the Crafting Cartel will only become more and more exclusive. I've been toying with cancelling my second account, where my WS toon is. This seals it. Kinda different from an "I Quit" msg, since I'm keeping my main, but I doubt that will last long since pretty soon, the list of crafters per server is gonna run rather slow, and I have no desire to go around hunting with a CDEF crafted by an artisan...

My point is that we were never intended to max out certain items due to game balance reasons.

And I'm guessing you had a developer confirm this for you? Come on, man your arguments don't even make any sense

LOL. Wrong question to ask.

I had several conversations with developers at Fan Fest last year. One of those conversations dealt with resource caps and game balance. So yes, I actually did have a developer confirm this for me first hand, in person.

And as far as me not making any sense, I did a little experimenting over the weekend, and just as an example...

On the "copper" requirement on VKs, I have Polysteel at 798 SR, and JTL copper with 990 SR. The Polysteel is read by the game as being better in that copper slot.

And this makes sense? I think not.

Remarkably similar to where I currently stand.

i like this new change....but i also hate it.

I am a relatively new to master Weaponsmith...but i have been bankrupt for the past few months, every last drop of income i get, i buy the best resources that i can find on my server, or if i see something really special, i will plant some harvesters on it...but with this change, alot of my resources are now junk, i cant even make staffs no longer, because all of my once amazing ditanium steel is now crap!!

So its back to the old game of cat and mouse with resources..

/sigh
