3-Can the factory time per component/weapon be reduced? ~5 days for a run of 1000 Adv Vibro units seems a little long.

There has been a push by many Architects to allow construction time of factory made items to be an experimentable property.

1-Are Avd Scopes/Adv RifleBarrelssupposed significantly better than non advanced ones? Ifso, Why arent they?

2-Better weapons are supposed to be lower in the skill tree? ie. too many to list.

3-Can the factory time per component/weapon be reduced? ~5 days for a run of 1000 Adv Vibro units seems a little long.

4-Does quality in Control Units and Power Conditioners supposed to matter in Tangle pistols/Vibro lance/Stun baton/etc? If so. Why doesnt it?

5-Why factory made weapons with scopes and stocks do not show when the weapons are produced?

6-Are all new weapons going to require loot drops and schematics? Should i get another account to farm the places where they are dropped?

7-Can we expect resources to matter more on the stats a weapon will have? Seems like all weaponsmiths make around the same stats even with not so great resources.

Bring up the issue of why all the new weapons are coming in the form of looted schematics requiring looted components which essentially are slowly turning the game into a camp fest and weaponsmiths into schematic monkeys. Every patch brings new weapons as loot and none as part of the smith crafting tree. The Geonosian pistol has taken the bottom out of the market for the Tangle, not that it was great to begin with. I and many other smiths, hate where this is going and would like to have it curtailed before it goes further. Adding new schematics we either have to kill or spend millions to acquire, millions which some especially those new smiths, don't have. There are lots of weapons we currently can make which could use some love. Know anyone who can use a Beam Rifle, or who wants to use an SR Combat pistol, Spraystick, etc.

But I digress, the issue is the looted schematics and components. I want to make things, I don't want to have to get loot in order to do it. Looted enhancements, like Krayt tissue, is fine. Having to looted things in order to be able to make something is unacceptable.

I would like to se some question about the balance between advanced and non-advanced components. To me it looks like scopes and stocks (the optional components) mostly are not worth the resources the use in most weapons.
A non-advanced scope experimented for range has lower ham and higher ideal range then an advanced scope experimented for efficiency. That seams a bit backwards.

I think it's more due to the fact that the resources required by the advanced components are a joke. Some stats capped really low, or the resource has always been junk.

Well, half of the professions got 1 question answered, the other half will follow next week. Did we get an answer or do we have to wait for next week?

Here is a copy for all those interested:

Weaponsmith: When do you plan for the "Weapon Rebalance of January" patch to go in and can you give us more details about what this patch will include?

I’ve been pushing hard to get the Combat Balance back on the schedule and everyone agrees that its high priority so we are talking about how we can best accomplish this. We're in the planning stages now and should see these changes before the GCW revamp. I want to help set expectations as best I can here. At this early stage, I would make the following comments:

- The biggest change in the Combat Balance that will be a "sensation", and by that I mean something that players will consciously "feel" is the HAM rebalance. That will have the biggest effect on game play.

- The next biggest change in the Combat Balance will be the data tables. The data tables are all the combat stats; weapon variables, armor variables, speed ratings, etc. We'll balance these things so that the game is a challenge and fun, but these changes won’t be obvious to anyone who isn't a number cruncher.

- Specials. The team will be assessing all the combat specials and working to tweak and balance them so they are fun and useful.

Question number two:

Q: Looted schematics were a sight for sore eyes after many months without any new weaponry, but now they're so prevalent that they've become a chore for most Weaponsmiths. Is this "limited use schematic" route going to continue to be commonplace, or will we see better alternatives (droppable certs, crafter-oriented quests) to providing new permanent schematics to Weaponsmiths in the future?

A: In the future, we will both see additional looted schematics and permanent schematics added to the profession.

Meh.

Took a 2 month break. Before I took the break early november stocks only showed on laser rifles and yes no stocks or scopes showed on weapons taken from crates..

Was hoping that something happened to our profession and what we do, I guess not.

Stocks still dont show on laser carbines, these are the only ones I've made since I got back. Guess it's time to test what weapons do show stocks.

As of last patch, all rifles/carbines except the E11s, DH17s, and DLT20/a will display stock and scope if they are hand-crafted with the stock/scope being loose in inventory instead of in crate during the crafting process.

This list of questions is fine with me. All the resource/schematic/certification nonsense and the uselessness of munitions tree will hopefully be fixed in the huge combat rebalance, whenever that is.

Actually I'm pretty sure the DLT series of rifles show scope and stock these days. I made one for display purposes, it looks pretty neat.

With regards to the people asking about resource gating, I believe that it was officially explained (during that fiasco of an experimentation change debate) that the resource attribute gating was taken into account when reflecting the builds. So - they deliberately restricted resource attributes and then scaled (so they say) the outcome to reflect this, for example, if an item relies on a resource that is gated by 50% then the end product stats was modified 2x. Why they did this in such a fashion I don't know. Additionally I fail to believe it was properly scaled as for the most past on some components it's a total waste.
