Thread: REMOVE AP1 from Jawa Ion Rifle
Pistoleer, I have to deal with one of you cary nerf addicted ones on the GCW and now here.
Nerfing does not fix professions, maybe making Disarmed shot into ranged War Crys might but nerfing the Jawa won't.
I use my T-21 all the time on Composite and get better damage.
Why? AP 3 makes up for the silly vulnerability.
Mabe you have run up against some double sliced Jawas, or maybe an elite loot or two. But it takes me to do in 10 HS 3's in a jawa what it takes 5 HS 3's to do with a T-21.
Maybe Krayt enhancement is the issue andmaybe that just means krayt loots need to be made rarer![]()
Because if you remove every gun that can be enhanced by krayt tissue than you remove content.
I understand your point of view, but let me clear a few things up first:
1) Do you even know how good of armor your enemies wear? I'll take a t21 to the head any day of the week over an equally good jawa rifle.
2) Whats the dmg on your ion rifle? most people that sport one effectively have one in the 400 dmg range, which is more than enough stun+ap1 dmg to take down a target quickly.
3)I have the exact same standpoint on the whole krayt tissue part and content, and thats exactly the reason why i didnt suggest that as my main proposal, thus the ap1 change suggestion.
The thing is everybody is acting like changing the ap on an already composite busting weapon is not gonna make a HUGE difference, but this is what we call balance, which is also compromise.
The whole TK kd+dizzy is the same thing. And its exactly these two reasons why Jedis are not played for PvP other than to get themselves killed on purpose.
I have several jedis in my guild, and know a few outside ones too, and they will refuse to partake in pvp on any circumstances for these exact reasons, it shouldnt be too hard to believe this when its singlehandedly discouraging jedi pvp.
No one wants to be a jedi to spend their entire 'jedi-hood' playing and leveling by themselves with too much fear of dying to some unbalanced profession/weapon/specials.

Well, several things on this (and a few of the other things you have mentioned). First, the reason you can't see your first post is that it got 1 starred and the default filters are killing it. You can change that by going to your profile. Second, every armor should have a weakness. Given the state of buffs, spices, and some foods ... players in composite can reach unreal levels. I wouldn't be opposed to Jawas being adjusted, just so long as composite armor is given equally fair treatment. I think the impression most people here are getting from your arguments is that you want to slap on your armor, buff up, spice up and stand there in an untouchable godly state. If Jawas were to be seriously reduced in effectiveness, then composite deserves to be examined and balanced such that it can't reach such high levels of effectiveness through enhancements and slicing. Fair is fair.
I'm an Armorsmith and I don't like what composite does. It means I have to Master the profession before anyone will buy my armor. No fun there.
I'd suggest that a new armor type be created. It should be very effective against stun but HORRIBLE against all other attacks. This way there is something to counter the Jawa Ion cannon, but you are vulnerable in other areas.
However, do we want combat to be constantly switching? You get shot with the Ion cannon so you quickly macro your stun-proof armor on. Then he switches to some other weapon and you put your composite on. Would combat be an ever changing thing?

Just letting you know we can see your posts Jennai. Apparantly only Cannbis-boy has them on ignore

WhatYOU don't seem to understand is its a VULNERABILITY in thecomposite. Take all the AP off the gun you want, it will STILL do the same damage, because vulnerabilities act like there is NO armor to begin with. Taking away AP1 from jawas won't give you the 50% damage reduction due to light armor, it will still pass full damage right on through.
So are you insisting that armor with a 36% stun special protection is going to take the exact same damage as if the weapon was ap0? I think not.
And PSGs are currently broke as well as RIS, and i dont know why anyone would reccommend that, nor do any AS with half a brainbother making any whatsoever, both are currently broken and impossible to find and are on the top 5 issues to be fixed for AS.
If the ion rifle is to stay the way it is, than there would have to be something done about the relative ineffectiveness of tangle pistol and the stun baton, both are ineffective pvp whereas the ion rifle is the own all weapon for competitive pvp, which i consider fully armored fully buffed master combat classes.
Ever seen anybody destroy you in a few shots of tangle pistol? or how about beat the snot out of you with a stun baton? Surely no one hears about that.
I dont want to start pulling quotes here from the tons of seasoned pvpers that agree, rifleman or not, butno one seems to getting the point. How are jedi supposed to be encouraged to pvp when they wont from fear of the bandwagon template -- Rifleman/tkm.
