Not sure if you guys saw this, but it looks like unserialed berzerker barrels are still dropping and are now unusable.

Last bump for this from me.

Seems this exploit may have been fixed, a few scattered reports seem to show at least the crafting block is in place. Non-serialed sub-components are being excluded from crafting tools, this solves half of the problem.

Would still like to know if people are still able to use old schematics. I doubt a response will be posted here, as it's more or less an admission of abusing this. But confirmation is needed nonetheless.

Of course if the devs would say something, that'd work to. The damage is done, why not post the fix?

I'll confirm, however though it was told to me but not proven, that old unserialized schematics didn't work.

At least, that's what I inferred between much tearing out of hair, gnashing of teeth, wailing and lamentation

I suppose I'll throw this out there and consider it a good sign.

The most prevalent Cube-sploiter on Sunrunner decided to retire from weaponsmithing recently. I found the timing to be remarkable, to bad the damage was already done.

Good riddance all the same.

Just to let u know the old schematal made with cube without SS# do not work anymore.

I try my old geo pistol schemcal that I had with them and It didn't work.

Had quit using it because u can make a great geo pistol with white cubes.

why? the devs said at fan fest that using them was not considered an exploit just a screwup on their part. In some ways you should thank him because the most you can make w/ a single unserialized tissue is 250 pistols. I know that seems like a lot but if a schematic yields 30 the honorable way, so this indirectly turns into 9 schematic rejections by offerors. Did you not feel the 10million pricetag on a piece of loot was ludicrous? The combat classes accuse us of gouging, accuse us of being rich, yet they are 93% responsible for the insane prices of lootable schematics. Now they are fetching 1.5mil a schematic and the prices are going down more. So indirectly, this particular example, actually made the price of the schematics obtainable by more crafters. I am not going to give the guy a medal but I certainly am not going to scream 'ban him' when the devs prettymuch gave the greenlight at fanfest. I know5 or 6smiths who did nothing until that statement and then acquired 1 to mass produce a cheaper line of sonics. I wouldnt call those smiths dishonorable, they originally did nothing because they felt it was an exploit but as soon as the devs said it wasn't, hello market share. As for the ones who feel the need to retire, your arent saving your reputation, noone remembers who you are in this game 2 weeks after you quit.

Well, I highly doubt the devs said this wasn't an exploit, because in that case they would never have fixed it. Period.
Name the devs name and his forum name so that I can verify whatever you claim he said.

For every WS that can distinguish between right and wrong there is no question that using this exploit was the wrong thing to do.

Well, at least one exploiter has reveled himself in the Gorath Trade Forum, calling the long awaited fix a "nerf" and he has no qualms about talking openly about it. He is justifying it with "every WS has used this...." an with "...so I had the chance to offer the scythes rather cheap..." (not under the normal prices I would wager)

Since I firmly believe in the integrity of most WS, I am sure that only a small minority of the WS used this. Or am I the only WS playing fair here?

I feel his justifications are outragious, but maybe it's just me...

they did say it was considered 'not an exploit' by the devs based on how they choose to define an exploit. Much like exploiting the travel store vehicle exploit was also declared 'not an exploit' and they fixed it too. there are such things as exploits that the devs consider 'non exploits' meaning there are no reprocusions to follow. The reason for declaring the white cube exploit a 'non exploit' was because they realized it was their own screwup, not once but multiple times over, that led to it. Incidentally they did correct it and no reprocussions followed. Much like everyone who travel-store fixed their vehicles remain playing the game.

Incidentally anyone who crafted on that 1-day new system patch on publish 7 who then kept schematics were in fact 'exploiting' but were encouraged to do so by the devs who politically wanted their new system to be voted back in use. For the record it was stated that only 10 points were to be possible to be spent on a single line of crafting barring a bad experimentation. I personally exceeded the resource gate many times enabling myself to spend 12 points on a single line such as 23-49/-0.48 power handlers. This is by the very nature of the definition 'exploting' but the devs have clearly declared it 'not an exploit' despite the fact you know you are manipulating the system into a result that is other than what was intended.

Right with you Loriena. I saw that post too. His 'justification' was just so much chaff. If he was charging the prices he stated, he was in fact making over 1,000 CPU. The only way I'd buy his "big heart" sob story was if he charged 20k per scythe, and not a quarter of a million per.

He was in it for himself, period.

Bottom line is that it's sad when people will rules-lawyer things in order to get as much footing as possible. We're all mature enough to know what's right and what's wrong, we don't NEED to be hand-held. We know it wasn't intentional that these serialess loots could be used in this fashion but still some people hang on to the finest points of "lawyering".

What's next? Do we need to post up signs around, telling people things the obvious?Do we need instructions on how to be moral about things?

"Do not push strangers in front of oncoming trains"?

"Do not eat this giraffe"?

"Do not headbutt the cashier if she's out of small change"?
