Speaking of Flurry weaponsmiths, as i am nearly master at this point (4/4/2/4), i plan on specializing in melee weapons. any flurrians know any other melee specialized WS's that i can compare my stuff to? Thanks.

I have a TON of melee weapons on my RYCA ranged/melee weapons vender in Aurora on Naboo. All but VK's are made with advanced parts. The vender is on the planetary map and you can shuttle into Aurora

Yea thsi thread is very old. Evil's apparently decided to take a different approach to weaponsmithing... hijacking and badmouthing other smiths in thier own auction and advertisement threads. Maladjusted chode.

Skedoozy, at 8K, unless you only make melee weapons, you are losing money on many of your weapons. Sooner or later you will run out of money, and have to raise the prices back up.

Show me how I am losing money. See Im an architect as well and you'll never convince me that Im losing money. Heh. I collect my own resources. Im not losing money. And it's been really great advertising for me. At the end of April maybe I'll go back to normal prices, but at least people will know im out there now.

I have 32 harvestors, plus generators, etc. So I gather a lot of my own as well, but it would take a year or more to gather it all, so I buy what I need. I pay 3cr/un for most, 5-10cr/un in situations where I don't have any choice. Now I counter this by selling what I don't need. March sales totalled about 11 Million credits for all 6 vendors.

In Range Weapons I have 17 seperate models that cost more than 8K. Melee weapons are much cheaper. The most expensive (T-21) COSTS close to 25K to make. Then many more are right around 7500K to make, which wouldn't be worth selling for 8K. This is not counting any weapons with enhancements such as Krayt, Rancor, Geonosian, etc.

These costs are not taking into account thefixed costs of my 5 factories that take maintenance 24/7 regardless of whether they are making anything or not.

I have mastered AS twice, WS, MA, MM, dabbled in Combat Medic Crafting and some of tailor. I know my costs very well.

First make sure that you have a good location. The best place to have a shop is near the major cities on core planets. Coronet, Theed, Bestine. Try toset up shopasphysically near the starport as possible. If you have to, findthe closest homeowner to the starport andoffer to pay him to move. It might not be cheap, but location is everything.

Actually I'm going to disagree with this slightly, because in the brave new world of Playercities? Location is more than just range to the nearest starport. A large player city, with a good selection of crafters and it's own shuttle port is where you want to be that can mean a lot more than starport proximity simply due to the fact that someone can stop in at so-and-so's armor, so-and-so's meds and then hit so-and-so's weapons and be all kitted up for their next battle.

Secondkeep proper levels of stock so that anybody who stops by can find what they want. As I said, nobody is going to squabble over a couple thousand credits. Thats one missions pay. If you have roughly the quality the customer is used to and have it in stock, as long as you're within a few thousand credits of the next guy, you should have no problem moving inventory.

This I agree with. I have for the longest time set myself with the goal of stocking .everything. and while I get the odd question about how to scroll through the vendors and what not? Everything does in fact move. Occasionally I'll run out of power5 and SR combat pistols because i don't stock those as often? But it's generally just a few days before I catch up and drp another 10-25 up on my vendors.

Finally, do some marketing. Use the trade forum. Post product lists. If you see a new player, hand him one of your second class weapons for free. It's better than what he's using and chances are he'll seek you out when he needs a new one.

The best advertising? Is a happy customer. It's a snowball effect, the more people see your weapons, the more people talk about your weapons, the more people buy your weapons and on and on it goes.
