Instead of just berrating this idea folks. How about some ideas and insight on how we can still make Masters the best, yet let the novices and dabblers have a decent chance to sell thier product. I know some commandos who really love grenades... But going up artisan engineering 4 and Munitions 4 & Techinques 4 really isnt an option for them. Why they took grenades away from the commandos as far as crafting is still beyond me. I still get requests for them, and i rarely make them.

I think they only had the ability to make the enhancements no? And I think they took it away because the beta commandos got shirty about having to craft anything. Not like it took anything away from the class.

As for pre-master markets, it's a tough one. Masters should always outperform pre-masters, just to represent the sheer skill point investment - and that's not necessarily holier-than-thou attitude - it's just carte blanche common sense. I'd take the same view to people who complained their pistol/carbine/rifle skills were no match for a bounty hunter's - well big surprise there, bounty hunters have to invest a heck lot more in skills.

The apprentice idea is not a bad one, but that's a limited thing. I'd be happy to take on an apprentice to do low level weapons (I'd have to insist on techniques 4 at least, is that too elitist still? ) or factory crates of components that don't matter for quality or having minimal impact (control units, power conditioners, warhead fusing and stabilising devices) but factory run gear is not exactly conducive to getting XP.

Perhaps opening up more experimentation points to components rather than final products? But then that could be seen as belittling.

Either way - yes it sucks to be a no money making pre-master, but that is as much an effect of economy as profession setup. And any solution has to ensure spending the full skill points in all the weaponsmith tiers is suitably rewarded; having more schematics is not the answer.

At any rate there is a big issue looming - publish 7 - which will widen the gap even further which I think will change the playing field when it hits.
