Thread: Weaponsmith Grinding?
I've just barely started into the weaponsmith profession, but one thing I've noticed already in my testing is the D18 pistol with good materials and without a scope does seem to out perform an experiemental CDEF with just a hair higher HAMs. The problem that I feel is happening is that the first and a few of the current D18s and other weapons out there are being made with scopes. Scopes have huge HAM requirements that over double the HAMs of a D18 if you make it with a scope.
The other thing I think people are doing it only looking at the damage and the HAMs. D18s have a much higher chance of hitting every shot then a CDEF does, so if you do the same or a little more damage/shot, and hit more then overall you have a higher DPS. It way of looking at weapon stats is one of the reasons DAoC changed to a DPS stat instead of a huge list of stats.
I also know from my own testing that a fully tweaked CDEF rifle compared to a DLT20a rifle of a little higher damage, HAMS, and hit rate, the DLT20a is by far a much better rifle as I can kill whites usually before they get to me at expert rifle. The CDEF I can only get the same mobs to about 1/2 to 3/4 health before getting to me.

I get 88wcxp a shot and they take just metal, any metal.
Am i missing something?
FINALLY! ----- I was reading all these posts and nobody mentioned the metal staffs. Any metal with only 2 clicks and you get 88xp. It's fast and efficient. This is the way i went and i got the first box in 2-3 hours.
