Realize that NDKs will never go away. They will either be attached to something or sitting in your inventory waiting to be attached to something. There will always be more tomorrow than there are today. Think of it as an exponential curve. We're only at the beginning of the curve today. From here it might not look so bad. Where will we be in 2 years when there are three times as many of these things available as there are today? When every Tom, D!ck, and Harry has one? That may not actually happen, but it is a very real possibility we are facing.

Personally, I'd rather not face it at all.

I want people to step back and think about this. Really think. Not trying to wave credentials here, but I have a degree in this. Predicting consumer behavior is part of what I do.

If it were a one shot deal, what would happen?

The consumer would look around for the best one they cold find in terms of damage, speed, and accuracy. They would be wise to ignore ham and condition, as HAM wont matter much more and condition will be solved fror them. So they buy that one weapon....and they are done. They will never come to see a weaponsmith again for that item. Now they may need other kinds of weapons and they may need powerups but for that specific weapon, they never need to buy another one again.

They also can not change professions with out some cognitive dissonece. They may really want to try carbines after curb, but now they are stuck with a power hammer that has this kit on it.

What happens if it is multi use?

They buy the best they can find at the time. They use the kit on that item. They then stop in every now and agian to see if you have any better then what they have. they keep looking till they find a better. and a better. and a better.

They also do not feel nearly as bad about changing combat professions. they just destroy the thing for which they are no longer qualified and start the same process on the new.

I also don't see the direct corelation for the concerns on legendary and exceptional weapons. We werent producing these anyways, so if they dont decay....we still wouldn't be producing them.

They wont after the CU when T21's are the slowest weapon in the game.

Riflemen will have a wide array of weapons that will come into play after the CU. Speeds and damageare changing, so we wont see "one weapon fits all" anymore.

This will apply to all professions.

The amount of complaining is unbelievable in here.

For a start, not everyone has taken the decay kit, not everyone is eligable for it, not everyone has or will play this game for a year. Many, many Jedi have got this item and will use it on their sabers. Also, it can only be used on one weapon, very very few people in SWG only use one weapon. The final point is that come the CU, all weapons will be viable in game in addition to new weapons, so look at the bigger picture and quit the pointless whinning.

Your business will not suffer because of this item. It might be effected at some point, but all in all, before and after the CU you will sell many many weapons even with this item in game.

This is a quality reward for 12 months of playing this game. Im damn sure it wont effect my business and I know I will also make use of it.

Dont be mistaken. You will see lots of business at the beginning of the CU, provided there are actually new weapons, but it is for the sake of having them, not because they are entirely useful. The kit WILL make a huge difference in the game. Considering you can apparantly retrieve the item from old weapons/armor/etc, it can be used on better finds. Whine about the whole "not everyone can only use one weapon." Trust me... if you could keep that uber T21 forever, you wouldnt mind the extra 10% damage you're not doing to this mob. You can point out small flaws in the judgement of the opposition, but all in all, there will be huge effects to weaponsmiths everywhere.

Did you ever stop to consider people's crafting alts? My alt is but a month younger than my actual char... I have nothing I need to keep forever on my WS, so I'll be moving that kit over to my char and enjoying it dually.

Yeah you keep hitting your sad button, everyone else is absolutely in awe of what this game is becoming. I think Im done with this forum, I just read about the new Player Event tools and my PA and I are working out new and exciting player event ideas for many people to have a lot of fun.

I'll leave you all to weep over your failing businesses, I have a fun game to play and a full schedule of custom orders to get out for the weekend.

If you read what I;ve been posting about then you'll see I'm not that bothered by the loss of business. I feel that the people who can't afford 800+ hammers or 700+ LVAs are going to lose out now that there's nothing stopping them from using it on durnis.

See, THIS is what I have issues with about the anti-decay kit. It should be a one use thing, not "I can use it on whatever I'm grinding at the moment". That's pretty flipping silly. I was always under the impression that you'd use it ONCE on ONE item and that was it. You're done. Being able to swap it between items in this fashion is not what I thought we were getting.

I'm going to go through channels to raise this issue, because it's ludicrous that you can do this, IMHO. I didn't think this was going to be a big deal, but now I'm not convinced.

I'll see if I can't get some info for you and permission to pass it along. Not happy at the moment. >=[

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark here but if it's anything like what's happening on Infinity then alot of those custom orders will be for Krayt weapons. If they're not then apologies. But what I am seeing is a virtually endless stream of requests to craft custom Krayted weapons. Due to the factory runs for the ABPHs they aren't a quick item to make. I have 12 factories thanks to friends/guildees so can run alot off at once but the ordersstill take alot of time. Continual custom crafting soon becomes a chore, not everyone can play for long hours, to the more casualgaming WS keeping up with it can occupy all gaming time.

Once upon a time Krayt weapons were a pleasure to make and were to be treasured. Now they're two-a-penny and there's nothing at all unusual about them. Krayt weapons are rapidly becoming the norm. I don't like this, I love(d) being a WS, it's the only prof I really had my heart set on but it seems our normal ranged weapons are heading into relative obsolesence. I've long been selling lower-end speed sliced Acklaybatons/PHs on the bazaar (okay mostly they do sell fairly quickly but sometimes can hang around for a couple of days), and for Krayt weapons the same thing is almost here.

Where do the recent changes leave our regular weapons? In limbo it seems, until the revamp. There have been alot of very good changes to the game lately but WS have been hit hard, and I don't just mean in the pocket, if the economy changes then fair enough we'll have to adapt. But the economy isn't what being a WS is about for me. Personally I think our bread and butter items have been devalued in an extreme way.

As a weapon buyer, I would like to address the concerns over the NDK. I have one NDK which can go on one weapon. When I grind back to BH, I will need more than one weapon. As a BH, I carried a variety of weapons, and as far as multiple NDKs go, that is saved by those with many more millions ingame than I have. There will always be those rich few who will have all of the goodies. Why does this matter if someone has used it on a legendary T-21? A player did not make it and after the CU, it will be a worse weapon than it is now.

I guarantee they thought of all of the variables people are complaining about right now, such as multiples, uber weapons, et al. We do not know what is coming in the CURB(At least those of us not in the sandbox) so everything now is speculation and conjecture. Trust me, WS will not be a dying profession because of one item. This is a knee jerk reaction to a gift given to us by the Devs. Hell, how many people will have a Jedi and just use this item on their sabers? The sabers do not affect the WS profession, so why all of this worry?

Again, as a once and future MBH, I LOVE having one of each damage type of weapon in my inventory. Not enough kits for that.

Crazy me, I used the anti-decay kit on my JtL TIE Fighter uniform. I can only get one of them. And I can wear with while non-overt. If uniforms ever become easily available, I'll get the deed back.

I do understand your problem, but you only have a problem if all no-decay kits go to weapons. Some will go to armor. Some will go to MOD clothing. Some will go to rare drops. Some will go to unique rewards. I think that this spreads out the impact fairly broadly.

As for those who have lots of money, they always like to buy more toys, and they'll pay more knowing that they can get no decay kits for them.

If you have the money, buy the kits up. Apply them to your best work. Charge lots more for a no-decay uber weapon.

On farstar it has got to the point that the only place to sell base tissues is the bazar, in that case is it nonsence to make any of the single APH weapons non krayt'd...
