Im new to Rifleman..Grinding my way up slowly but surely...Does/did anyone use the Jawa Ion Rifle at anytime during the grind? Or is this primarily used for PVP(Stun Damage of course)? Basically just looking for any info on Jawa Ion Rifle use. Thanks. Oh, btw stats on ones I can use are 116-224, spd 5.6...unsliced.

I use mine all the time.

I like the sound effect, plus the specials are lot cheaper and the gun is faster overall.

Know a freind with a Krayt Jawa with max 295 dmgunsliced. Not sure on other specs, but thought the damage was nice.

I only used it for PVP and the occasional mob with very high energy resist and very low stun resist. The E11 makes a better general-purpose rifle if you don't like the laser; it's faster than the jawa, medium armor piercing, and low HAM.

You'll find that there are many tough level critters vulnerable to stun, meaning that your Jawa will do more damage for you than potentially your T21. It's all about matching the rifle to the vulnerablity of your target, each has there place. Which is why I carry a T21, Jawa, Laser and DLT20a.

Be very careful. I have tried this and the damage was MIGHTLY disappointing. I finally found out why too, it's the vunerability bug. Jawa is AP1 but if the target is vunerable to stun you have in effect AP0 vs AR0. Now if your target happens to be AR2 it too would drop to AP0 vs AR0 so it can be useful... but how many mobs have that (none I know of on Dantooine)?

ok, i didn't understand any of that.... What's the "vunerability bug"?

Are you saying that the AP of the jawa is meaninglessif the critter is vunerable to stun to begin with?

If so, why would creatureresists of 0 to your rifle be "disappointing"?

I just made novice, so I'm trying to understand all this. Thanks.

What kind of damage do these do?

(and, I was under the impression that the E11 was worth having, but I can't find any on my server, Am I mistaken?)

We have discovered that AP is only factored if the target has a resist to the weapon. If it has a vunerability to stun and you use an Jawa : straight damage, no increase or reduction. If it has a small resist to stun, you will do more damage (assuming no armour) then vunerable to stun. Light armour: go with vunerable.

ok, I get it.

With an AP1 weapon, against an AR0 creature, your supposed to get a bonus increase in damage.

so a bug that makes it straight damage withno increase is actually worse than if the resists were being factored in,as long asthe AP1 to AR0 damage increase was also being factored in correctly.

is that right?

You're not SUPPOSED to get bonus damage, it's just the way it works now. The armor system is pretty screwed up and the devs said it's not supposed to be like that (see sticky thread with data in weaponsmith forum).

Any weapon used against a target vulnerable to its damage type will do damage as if both target and weapon are AR0.

In some situations, this means you'll do less damage if you use the vulnerability weapon (e.g. AR1 mob with low energy resist and stun vuln would take more damage from laser/T21 than a jawa). In others, you end up doing more damage with the vulnerability weapon (AR2/3 mob with high energy resist and stun vuln would take more damage from jawa than laser/T21).

To the guy who uses the DLT20a, I would suggest that you find a tusken rifle. It has AR1 (I think the DLT20a has AR0, right?) and mine does 210-3xx damage. Put yourself a powerup on there and you can do some serious damage. Also, its damage consistency is nice. Without a power up, headshot2 does between 900 and 1400 damage every shot (depending on resists of course). But I find it to be more useful than a DLT20a. Just a suggestion.
