Ok, saw some nice other ideas, so here goes with my new list:

- Bio-linkable option - If selected reduces SAC by 5-10 points - Requires a Geo component

- Ability to customise components like pre-cu days (barrels, scopes, etc)

- Abiliy to choose color of the bolt - possibly only modifable by adding a colored crystal

- Ability to add Skill tapes/skill enhancersto a weapon during craft (see below)

- Ability to reverse engineer a looted / quest weapon to get some special components - ie barell/scope/ skill enhancer (see above)

(Avoided putting anything on weapon CAPs as its obvious and I doubt they will move on this)

The Devs are currently looking for ideas on Inspirations that will be useful, but not *absolutely* necessary.

One of the ideas for Weaponsmith that has been mentioned is granting you the ability to change the color or particle effets that go with your weapons' energy bolts.

So the question is, do you like this idea? What are some other benefits you can see as useful to you, but would not detract from you being a "whole Weaponsmith" if you didn't have the Inspiration?

Thanks!

Here's the original thread if you wish to post there too.

Being able to add Color to weapon names again.

Whats the deal with colors in weaponnames? Every WS will know how to do it, every weapon will have some funky color, it will be dull within a week. You wont be able to tell whether your weapon has a PuP on it at glance if the WS decided to make the weapon color yellow.

Sorry, color in weapon name has a thumbs down for me.

How about on prototypes only, no schematic run weapons can be named with colours.

Thing is if its anything like Corbantis, nearly everything is custom made that people are using. Seems its Krayt or nothing so Im not sure it will make that much difference. Also, still have the issue of using Yellow to identify a PuP is on the weapon. Have to find another mechnism for showing PuPs then.

How about an extremely rare chance at creating a legendary weapon while buffed?

Lets say 1 in 1000 chance at a grand master combine, this would provide additional exp points to play with. Also throw in a similar type of success with experimentation. Only when a grand master combine and experimentation are achieved on the same weap would a legendary item be made.

Legendary item would:

Be excluded from a factory run,

Get a boost to speed and dam over the cap,

Be given a unique look.

Legendary and grandmaster were just used for the sake of describing my idea, im sure some better names could be thought of. Same goes for the rarity.

If I knew I had the chance, albeit, extremely rare, to produce a possibly unique weapon, I would make sure to get my musician/dancer buff!

I like the idea of a 10% experimentation boost.

How about allowing the hard caps on weapons to be raised during crafting? That would be an awesome inspiration buff as well.

Ok, I will remove my vote on customization and revote.

I think it would be absolutely awesome if we got the ability, even if it's a random effect, of building a socket or two into a weapon that could receive either an AA or a CA. How about an option of taking a weapon that we built (completed weapon) and attempt to modify it with a socket. If we fail, the weapon falls apart, if we succeed, then 1-2 sockets will appear in the weapon. (Depending on success.)

This would make for a completely new line of weapons "modded weapons”, many (say 90%) might fail and thus be destroyed, thus will add risk to the reward. The WS who crafted the weapon should be the only person allowed to add sockets and add attachments to the weapons.

This will prevent the well-known smiths from dominating this market too. They might not want to destroy a large amount of their weapons in order to add a socket and attachment to a single weapon. This would greatly improve the interaction between crafter and weaponsmith. The combat player might find a cool AA that he wants into a modded weapon; he contacts his favorite smith and tells him he wants a weapon modded. The WS will go ahead and make a few weapons and attempts to give them sockets. Once he succeeds, he tells the customer, "Hey, It took 5 attempts to get this done, so it will cost you, $150,000" or whatever. They get together, the smith adds the attachment, and money exchanges hands.

How cool would that be?
