LOL this thread was deleted. If what I have been hearing is true (new (looted?) weapons with the next expansion that outweigh the stats of our current capped stat weapons) then what point is there really to WS. Besides PH's, there's no point for WS' to have higher CL melee weapons when the looted ones are better than the crafted ones. If they take away our advantage over the looted ranged weapons (with great resources/enhancements, ours are better), then what more do we have?
My experience from these threads is everything in them ends up being at least 75% true and no matter the disagreement by the community, SOE does what they want. bleh, why bother.

The weapons in that thread was pulled from the frog. So Far I have only seen a few reward weapons and their stats have not been impressive or anything we cant compete with statswise. On top of that a good deal of the reward weapons are unslicable and unpuppable.
I am not allowed to post any spoilers, so I cant give you exact numbers but I think its safe to tell you that the one reward Carbine i have seen so far had a sac above 100.

Thank you for trying to put the balanced view forward. I have been around here long enough, seeing what moves from TC to Live to know however that most stuff makes its way across, and is only backed out if there are mass demonstrations !
The blue frogs gave out absolute rubbish during the CU testing at first, then capped stuff. The point of even seeing these weapons is that the tables supporting the loot drops mean that weapons with these stats can and will drop, and therefore everyone will go and try and get one.
We currently have a schematic list as long as your arm, but only make 10 weapons which are of any use to anyone (see post re: grinding to elite using a cdef pistol).
I am moaning, not bacause i am going to give up, or cancel my account, but as this is the ONLY forum in which i can raise my concerns. Not that anything is generally done by the devs as a result of critiques raised by forum members.
I am just sad that a unique part of SWG (ie crafting) is being further diluted with each release.
Give us some love, bring back the serious challanges which keep us hooked

When the ToOW beta started the frog gave out very bad weapons aswell (Carbines with SAC 130 and 700 max damage) People complained that the expansion was untestable with weapons like tha t(and I have to say I really missed my own weapons). The Devs listened to the complains and bumped all weapons to their dam cap (as an example ALR from the frog is at 1184 max damage). Im not saying I am not worried, but I dont think this is the place to be conserned.
Though I do agree that the Devs need to come forward and give us more straight info on what we will have to fight against.
Atm there has been no reports of weapons we could not compete I will keep you posted and up to date on everything Im allowed to say

I know we do and we need to have more weapons viable, but that is an issue that reaches out above the expansion

I agree fully on this, but again this is not in the scope of the expansion (how badly we want it to be) and my main consern with this expansion is making sure the new loot reward weapons wont be overpowered and that we get some new weapons in schematics that is cool, new and exciting, but not so overpowered that they will remove the need for the weapons we craft atm.

Before anyone asks I dont know exacly what the special effect does as I havent had time to test this out myself (Ill try to get around to it and get back to you on it or get a nice friend to help me out with it)What I have read so far is that it does some kind of elemental damge around 36 and only triggers occasionally (kinda like critical shot), but this is only hearsay so it might not be entirely correct.
The conclusion is that these weapons should not cut dramatically into our marked, (though they would have broadened it if they were craftable)
I understand you are all sceptical and atm I am trying to get a dev to confirm that there will be no reward weapons more powerfull than what a weaponsmith can make. I hope to get something I can quote for you to put this issue to rest

How is it that we are so far into Beta, yet the only screenies we've seen are of the UBER rifle/carbine and the one 'freeze spike' pistol Summer posted?
Are they not giving out anything but current weapons on the frogs? Are the 'new' weapons non-threatening enough that people aren't mentioning them?
As an afterthought: If the frogs are giving out maxed weapons, might we seize the opportunity to update/verify our listing of known caps with this information?![]()
