I repaired at 500 .. it dropped down to 850. 150 loss in condition

I then repaired at 100 .. it dropped down to 760 .. a 90 loss in condition.

Repair at 75-100 .

When is the best time to repair a piece of equipment? Should I wait till it's really low on condition or should I repair at, say 50%? I'm sick of trying to repair things and having it either lose 1/3 of its condition or get trashed completely.... And does 'weapon repair' tapes and such actually work? Or are they broken like several other types of SEAs?

The longer you wait, the higher the chance of failing the repair.

Additionally, armor (and some say weapons, but i've never notice) start taking a hit to their effectiveness once they pass 50%. The more it decays, the less it works. For that reason i always repair my armor just after the 50% mark, same goes for expensive weapons.

If it's a cheap weapon (Like a Gaderiffi (sp) baton, or VK's etc...), then just buy crates of it, and repair it when you feel like it, if it gets destroyed, pull another out of a crate and have it sliced.

I dont have any info on whether the tapes are working as expected or not.

::Edit:: Notice total disagreement with the above

Here's the deal from my personal experience, although many people dissagree with me, and say I repair too late, it hardly ever fails.

100-50% - Blows up a heck of a lot

49 - 11% - Still blows up a heck of a lot

10% - 7% Seems a little better, but still lots of totally broken stuff
6% - 3% Seems to be the best time to repair, although by this time the stats have dropped a lot, especially on armour.

10-7 seems to the givemore perfect repairs, although 6-3 seems to give more successful repairs with 'minor blemishes and reduced condition'. Normally with my armour, it's around 33% total condition down the drain at this point, but I can be more confident it won't blow up.

All in all, thats from close to 50 individual pieces of armour. Also remember to get yourself some good 98+ repair kits. It seems to make a difference in successful repairs rather than how good the repair is.

Sorry about that lack of hard numbers.

Take Care

i gotta say i agree with 100%, i had 2 weapons i decided not to repair for risk of breaking them, a acklay stun and a acklay hammer. the hammer got down to 35/1040 condition, i repaired with 100% kit, repaired with minor blemishes to like 1035/1035 condition. same thing with baton, let it fall to 50/900 or something like that, full repair again.

i do 50% weapon repairs all the time, and sometimes fail, sometimes lost 1/3 condition. it sucks.

Armor, although i never tested this, seems to me totally random at the 50% level. i had one peice of armor i had repaired at least 12 times, no exxageration, by the final repair, it was 250/250 condition or something lol. good for pve
