Also...A CSR in game confirmed that the effectiveness of repair tools has no bearing on the result...totally random...wish I had a screenie of it

Bull-crap.........want proof? use a 1% tool then a 99% tool

Perhaps the CSR was referring to weapon upgrade kits, used for slicing. For that at least there is debate about whether the experimentation makes any difference or not. For weapon repair kits, I think its pretty clear that experimentation to get the rating up makes a big different, and I'm sure it would be easy to prove.

Just remember if you get below 50 condition and you try to repair it the saber condition can result in a -756 condition which means you cannot use it anymore, you can either destroy it or upgrade it if it was a 3rd gen or something.

When do you repair your saber? How many repairs can you get out of it? When do you upgrade it?

I prefer repairing it when it gets to about 250/1000 condition. I dont know how many uses you can get out of it really but upgrade it when it gets to 1/1 condition.

If you upgrade a 3rd gen saber when its at say 1/1 (lol) does it reset the 4th gen to 1000/1000??

I havent had to repair a saber yet, Im only 4/1/1/1, so I dont know what happens.

yes, a 1/1 3rd gen will still become a 1000/1000 4th gen.

1/1 condition? Does it do the same damage as a swinging around a flashlight?

So I should repair it before it hits 50% and keep doing that until its pretty much useless, then upgrade it to a 4th gen??

Am I understanding this right?

I repair my saber when it gets down to 25% condition because at that point it starts to do less damage. How many repairs you get out of it depends on the quality of repairs you get so there is no straight answer for that. I'm not sure what the maximum condition you can lose on a single repair is but I lost 20% on my first repair. Saber went from 1000/1000 to 800/800. On the second repair it went from 800/800 to 760/760. So as you can see it can very greatly. As for the when to upgrade that all depends on how you feel about having to repair it often.

as an ex-weaponsmith, no not holo grinder, but that was my full time prof from july-november, now turned jedi and dragon hunter, i would say to repair around 30-50% in there. the reason is say this, is you will usually lose some condition no matter what, so you want to repair as little as often. Also, you dont want to repair it at low conditions, such as less than 25% cause it loses stats and the repairs usually arent as good when its that low.

No i mean if you get to 50/1000 or 50/500 condition... not 50% condition :-)

If your saber is for example 50/1000 or less then the repair can result in a - condition which is the same as failing on a repair.

The damage will be 0/0 then.

So always repair your saber before it hits 50/xxxx
