Well the devs will say for the type of weapons they converted just fine. I'll explain it a bit:


For example the geo pistol isn't a master pistoleer cl 54 pistol but much lower and thus they adjusted the damage on them to be lower. The geo pistol might still be one of the best geo's there are but well let's face it geo's are crap now and they are not worth my time crafting them.


But i had 5 500+ dmg geo's on my vendor and they got nerfed to hell totally useless!


My old stock 2500+ weapons 1/6 of them are better then what i can craft post-cu oke but most of that is level 6 newb weapons. My old loot made stock 300+ weapons are crap crap crap. All thecredits, resources and timei invested in those weapons all went poof. Not to mention i still had a nice load of subs in my factory's now useless. The least thing they could do was give us some subs worth using after the cu. Oke i lost the weapons fine but all the subs as well that's just a slap in my face.


That's like saying to a combat toon destroy your best armors best weapons and give me 10mil. I didn't stockpile old schematics or subs whatever. I just had a nice collection for loot made weapons. And the lower SAC? -6 etc that was our best bet to make our weapons comparable with some of the quest given weapons.


What more do they want to TAKE from me? All my resources? Why don't the devs just change all the resource requirements add in some FL or DR weee yeah that would be good. FL would decide the color of the blaster fire and DR the condition weee. Oke i'm freaking out a bit right now but still. They are taking so much right now i'm not rich at all i allready had to craft so many new subs. I used so much resources in these last few weeks and i have to buy a lot of new stuff or hope that there will be some good spawns finally. I invested a lot of time in my crafting and using tons of my resources and i was gladi still hada nice supply of pre-cu subs to use in my loot weapons to give them the extra power they deserve.


I just can't figure out why why why are the devs doing so many stupid things. And yes i think the devs are doing really stupid things right now and that might just be because i don't understand why. And the devs are not even trying to explain why. Yes we need to balance the pre-cu subs to adjust them better to the post-cu crafting and results. But why why why do they still mess that up. I'm just lost trying to figure what is making the devs act the way they do.

Try being a Doctor, than you'll know what "getting screwed" is all about. Imagine if your 1000 pre-cu whatevers had suddenly turned into 1000 Metal Fasteners and you weren't even able to make weapons at all anymore and all your top end pre-made weapons turned into CDEF quality rifles. That's getting screwed, this change doesn't even compare.

i agree they were outbalancing , i had a half decnet stash of them when cu hit,woulda had more if not for chimearas rollback ,
i didnt make any weapons with them tho, me and my major competitors didnt want to,
then we realised that other newer smiths on the server were using them , so i reacted by making runs of T21's, elites and laser carbines with them .
something that zz will back me up on ,i never wanted to use these to compete , im glad they are being removed,
i have a rifleman alt tho, so i woulda been silly not to slap some t21's in the facs when i read this news, sommit i consider myself being entitled to considering all the precu components that are junk and also all the pre may10 stuff i had .

my earlier point still stands tho, they can correct these so i woulda expected all the barrels and units corrected aswell.

And that would be a lie also. Before attempting to explain please read the rest of my post, particularly the FWGexample. I'm not comparing it's performance versus other weapons pre and post cu. I'm talking about the same weapon. My non enhanced, basic post cu FWG are FAR better than the old krayt enhanced versionI have.

I had a doc. Repeat, had, so I kinda know how you feel. What I lost w/ him doesn't begin to compare w/ what I'm out in weapons and the hundreds of kraytpower handlersI made up before hand so I could immediately start making krayt versions of the new stuff.

was it just the stocks that converted and are they still better than what can be crafted now ( i know the sac is better with pre-cu but how about the other stats?) how about the other parts specifically advanced scopes, rifle and pistol barrels (all advanced)? please let me know as I need to know whether i have to go buy resources to make the parts, or whether the old parts are still better (i want to make a handful of guns but am using great tissue so don't want them wasted)...

I know that but they will just say you have to compare them to pre-cu weapons only. I know this because i had a long conversation with a csr about it. since i had about 20 krayted and acklay weapons that changed to 0-0 damage range..

Hey I do feel for you Doctors, and if that had happened to me I probably would have just quit. Cancelled all but at least one account guaranteed. SOE is f'ning up, have been for a long time now. Pretty much ever since the dev team got a bunch of new "red" members, if you catch my drift. lol.

Starsider came up a couple hours late today, and when I got in, I found that my pre-CU components hadn't been converted. Is this a Starsider/Chilastra only phenomenon? Should I start crafting guns like crazy today?

If they are on a vendor, they will still show a damage stat, however if you pull it from your vendor the damage is wiped.

You're right. They weren't on a vendor, but were in a crate. When I pulled one from the crate, it lost its damage stats. Bleh.

The stocks still give -6 sac over the best crafted, so they will give you a 5% (ish) decrease in SAC on the final weapon. Smiths that have them are still at a big advantage.


The +40/40 was simply too unbalancing. It was like having all rifles made with base +80 krayt tissues. Try making a rifle with old base tissuesand a Post-cu stock and see if you can come close to the old stock weaps...
