The main factor is skill level of weaponsmiths. And yes, weaponsmiths have better success at weapon repair than artisans. Best to have a master weaponsmith repair weapons. I tried at all levels of artisan and weaponsmith all with 99% or great weapon repair kits. I consistently got the best results and fewest failures as master weaponsmith. I hear the same from other weaponsmiths and read the same in this forum.

weaponsmiths have *no* bonuses to repairing weapons. Your best bet is to find someone who specializes in repairing weapons. They will have +25 to weapon repair worth of skill tapes, and will be better at it than anyone else.

It would be nice if we had a skill that said "+ weapon repair" somewhere in our stat mods, we could at least get an idea of how much better we are, else that patch was a farce and by chance we magically get better fix rates than non-MWS

Well i have good repair tools & some skill tapes in repair....My tools are 99.99999%
