Thread: undercutters....
Its called ADVERTISING.
Before I became weaponsmith I would try hard to find a master weaponsmith that made the weapons i needed (HPBCS).
One day in bazaar i was shocked at seeing two HPBC's of good damage (min 1800 max 3100) at 3k creds!
I bought them both so fast my mouse left skid marks on the desk. Was so amazed at my good luck that I decided to see if any other bloke was selling such wonders at such low price.
clicked 'search all galaxy' in bazaar.. and found 8 more such hpbc's sold in 3 different planets. So heck yeah, i bought them all and went on a pickup tour.
When I was slicing them (im slicer4) I noticed that all those hpbc's were made by the same weaponsmith. And the bloke had put the coords for his shop on the weapon description.
Needless it is to say, I visited his shop.
He did not sell 3k HPBC's but rather at 10k... (which was cheaper than i used to buy them from other WS's).. and some other nice weapons.
Bought from his until i got the WS skill..and I still buy some of my rocket launchers from him (not master ws yet).
Now that archs can experiment on harvestors, resource quality will become more important for them, which means more work looking for the best materials (though probably still nothing compared to what WS have to go through to find the right materials).
I previously thought that once archs got experimentation they would be able to charge more for their goods, but I've seen now that improved harvestors still sell at the same prices as the old lower-rated harvestors, and anytime I read a post from an arch trying to selling a 10 or 11 extraction heavy harvestor, he/she inevitably gets flamedabout prices, thread jacked by a competitor, or (most often) both. I'm glad I'm not an arch, because that profession is just plain screwed over.
As far as the profit-making goes, if all you care about is making money then the thing to do is harvest resources and sell them. It requires only Novice Artisan to operate a survey tool, and anyone can plop down 10 heavy harvestors. Then you have plenty of free time left to run missions, do the theme parks, pvp, etc.
Anyone who is getting into WS solely to make money will probably quit as soon as they realize that it's not nearly as easy as it seems. Spending months waiting for one vital resource to spawn isn't much fun, especially if you've already made MWS but can't sell any decent weapons because you lack Ostrine or Irolunn. The get-rich-quick typesdon't have the fortitude to stick out the grind or do the resource stockpiling that is required to be really successful at WS, so don't worry abou them undercutting 'cause they'll be gone soon.

Anyways, if all you're concerned about is how much you're making, you should've become a weaponsmith its not like its a secret that we make good money.
That and comparinga scout blaster to a large house is a silly comparison. How about a T21 to a large house or Rocket launcher to a PA hall. Both much better comparisons, but it's still comparing apples to oranges. How critical is it to have the very best material and perfect experimentation is it for architects.....
not on my server
a Base 4 medium (same as old mediums) sold around 14k
a Base 7 or 8 medium (same or better than old heavy) sells for close to 100k
significant increase in profit there. And I really dont mind since im getting a heavy extraction rate at a cheaper operating cost and redeed cost.
Hey GrandMuf...not trying to be rude, but chill with the architect whining okay?
This is the Weaponsmith board, and this is a thread about the weaponsmith profession...not architects. I'm not saying that architects have it easier or harder than us, I'm just asking you to save your architect complaints for the architect board.
Thanks!
