Thread: Increase in Exceptional Weapon drops, is SOE Phaseing us out??

I personally could do without all the lame schematics and dropped compoents.

I think dropped barrels and other parts that go in numerous weapons is a good idea, but chasing the schematics and required loot for the current weapons is annoying at best.

You've gotta be kidding me. You weaponsmith's are getting really selfish. I dare one of you to go out for a day and try and loot and exceptional weapon. Chances are in a 3 hour buff session on Dath you won't loot anything worth $ to anyone. The guys that get the exceptional loot are the ones that work their azzes off all day hunting.

Oh an another thing, why don't you check the condition on these looted weapons... 137/750, 205/690, etc. Nothing to hoot about, Gives a guy some glory for a couple nights in PvP, whats the harm in that? I think that before you all say,"Everyones looting Exceptionals," you should think about what your saying and actualy go loot hunting yourself for a night.

This guy's right (although I take exception to the selfish thing!) I've got three characters in all...my MWS/MSmuggler, my PvP pure combat templated character, and my PvE character, some of who's skill points I use for enough merchant trees to sell my goods. I've taken to hunting on dath and taking out other sort of "big game" type of stuff and I've yet to loot any exceptional weapons. Several very nice SEA's, to be sure, but no exceptional weapons yet. I think that Smork probably hit it pretty well...they really aren't dropping any more often these days, people are just selling the ones they've got. And, no, they're not going to have any significant impact on any of our buisinesses at all.

marauder is right, those guys that get those guns are out there several times a week, often getting crap for loot. I would much rather be a crafter than spend hours killing stuff.

I tried to warn you guys about this in my previous post but to much negativity so I let it die.

Very rare exceptional looted weapons don't bother me. So long as they stay rare. My primary annoyance is with the looted schematics/components. All new content for weaponsmiths is coming in this form. Architects get lots of new things with cities and are getting a new painting every two weeks, no combat required. Armorsmiths got wookiee armor and will get more of it. DE's got a whole bunch of stuff(and they needed it), chefs got a revamp as well, tailors are getting the raw end of the deal.

We weaponsmiths get new weapons but in order to be able to make them we have to go kill stuff or get someone else to kill stuff for us. And then we also need to get components and are limited on number of attempts at making the new weapons.

Most crafters are getting new things and all they have to do is do what have been doing, no combat required. All combat classes are getting new places to go and kill things. Weaponsmiths get looted schematics.

Well I say from now on, if we weaponsmiths have to kill things in order to get new weapons, I say all combat people should have to craft things in order to get to go to new places to fight.

Stop right there. You did not just express envy of architects. Do you really want to talk about gimped sales? Weaponsmiths have NO IDEA what a bleak future is. Oh no, dear me, I only made a million today.

What was the last new city item that architects got? Garages? How many cities are there. How many architects are there? I'd imagine every architect got to make one garage at most. Whoopdy friggen doo.

A new painting every few weeks? That painting is the equivalent of the enhanced E11, Rep, or FWG5 schematics. You have to buy/earn it and it's limited in uses.Do you really want to compare yourselves to architects? Would you prefer to get a new enhanced weapon schematic every two weeks, but weapons never wear out?

Quit your damn whining. I get tired of all the whining on these forums.

I spend the vast majoritu of my day killing big game. Do you realize the amount of crap loot I get compared to the occasional decent piece? for every one legendary carbine looted, 5,000 CDEF's were looted. And you know what? rare weapons like this INCREASE your buisness. know why? anyone who loots a legendary weapon does not hunt or grind with that weapon. it is a special PvP tool they pull out, or it hangs on their wall. they hunt and grind with the everday weapons the WS's create. so look at it this way. for every legendary weapon looted recently, you probably sold 100 weapons for those hunters to grind with.

I'm wondering if one reason we're seeing more auctions on this stuff is because players are leaving the game and selling off stuff they've collected over time.

actually the combat revamp will fix this i believe. I keep hearing glints of information about multiple tiers of the same weapon. example: a dl44 for marksman, a dl44 for pistoleer novice and a dl44 for master pistoleer. I assume that as one's skills get better the differences of these weapons are more ideal. Perhaps master weapons can lose .5 speed to gain 50 points damage etc since they already have nice speed mods etc.The one thing that does concern me are those very low ham looted weapons w/ high damage. The combat revamp is supposed to make special moves cost a whole lot more but the special move point pools will regen much faster than the HAM pools. I think high damage weapons (like the 1900 max damage t21 auctioning for 50mil on my server) should have 200 mind cost not 30. Right now w/ food and buffs that wouldnt make much difference but after the revamp one would have to think long and hard before using such a high cost weapon.

loot rates haven't gone up lol.

character/players have progressed over time and there are more/more efficient loot hunters out there. Armor's gotten better, weapons have gotten better (look at what some introductions, like acklay bones, did for some professions), there are just a lot more strong players out there now capable of hunting the big game.

Even if these uber-loot drops were common enough for every single player on the server to have one (which they aren't), there would still be a huge market for crafted weapons.

now, quit yer bitching and play the game, thanks.

Yeah, you're right. I don't know why I said "selfish," just had one of those moments where I couldn't find the right word to use. By the way, I respect Master Weaponsmiths more than any other profession quite frankly because the stuff you guys do is a pain at some times. I know resource hunting is a pain in the arse but so is loot hunting. I know that sales are going down as hologrinding is coming to an end, but that doesn't mean that looted weapons will rule this game. As I have said before most exceptionals are use for a couple nights of PvP for some glory.

It also comes down to the fact that most combat players are only playing this game now because of loot, what else is their to accomplish?
