Thread: Does SOE Not like WS?

If you have the money to buy the loot needed to make great weapons you are in the clear.

However, if you don't or have other stuff your money has to go to is hard to get the loot to make the nice weapons.


As for the schemsI think they should just let the WS's have the schems for the scythe's, but make them only take the normal adv sword cores, and then still have the scythe quest for theGeo sword core ones.

Also I think they should make the ranged weapons have a frame that loses cond, but has to have parts changed on them, barrels,Blaster handlers,scopes. make them able to be customized by the WS's and have a lot more ranged weapon loot fall so the people can bring em in and have stuff made out of the new loot and their fav skeleton/frame of gun. Acctually have a chassis type thing for melee aswell.I'm totally ripping this idea off but I can't remember who said it a while ago...lol.



I think the weapon enhancements should be put into the hand of the smiths so they can make the stuff for the players to use. Make it so that each prof will want their next weapon made with the loot and it will make it's way to the smith. All I see is the loot collectors sitting on the components waiting until they need money and then they auction em off for huge bucks. Booo...lol. Leave them the SEA's to sell off for big bucks..lol


Iguess we have to wait for the CU to see what happens, P.S. how long until the Cu goes to beta? I really want to be a WS in beta. Or will the WS prof not change until after CU when all the new weapons are in game and they then focus on the crafting profs. I just hate not knowing what the hell is going on. My real life is random enough, I don't need a game that I like playing to always have everchanging date and unknown future to things I'm looking forward too.

I like that, sort of a flavor of the month list

Havethe schems that need components fromaplanet/cave so that one is not supper busy and the others are dead.

Like a bleed dot you have to loot from a cave on Naboo for the Mod Rep blaster...I donno just thinking out loud.

Even have some random resource or something so that we have to go run and get what we can. I find there is too much sitting on what we have and less and less stuff being made. Combat Upgrade has made me put my high end loot to a bag in a back crafting station so I don't get tempted...lol

i was referring to the zerk rifle being useless due to ap0

the other points you counter must only be valid on your server as on the server i play on nobody uses any of the weapons listed appart from scythe de10 and sonic blaster

You can't say that WS is hated by SOE...sure there may be more bugs and oddities in our profession than in others, but Smuggler is the all time mosthated profession.

I think my smuggler friend is referring to the complete lack of attention smuggler has gotten. Sure you have gotten a bad lot, but smuggler is left with an obsolete spice line a underground tree that gives the following skills. Talking to a spawn of jawas, and buying faction points thats it. The dirty fighting is a total dice roll system except for FD. Slices are entirely random to boot. Let me list it off.


Spices nobody wants them nobody uses them. They are a total desperation buff. Infact they are weaker then both food and buffs. Plus for an added kick they make you as sick as a dog after five minutes.


Dirty fighting. All the moves run off of a real dice system. Its random luck to stick most attacks. The only move worth anything is FD, and you cannot really use that in pvp, because the other player will take the opportunity to black bar you and destroy any armor or clothing you are wearing. Usually in retaliation for what jedis are doing with the move.


Weapon mods/mitigations. Smuggler dosent get any of that good stuff even in modest amounts. Basically smugglers are pistols 4 with FD stacked on. Infact smuggler dosent even get its own weapon cert really strange for a profession with no combat support, that happens to be a hybrid.


Sliceing or the slice whoreing to be more specific. Most players actually buy items presliced. Instead of useing a smuggler. Smugglers are limited to sliceing looted weapons. The system is neither craft rewarding or skill accomodateing. Sliceing gear is generic, and the smuggler has no control over the slice rendered. Total dice roll another reason for a player to buy presliced so they can choose their slice.


Underworld. Total net skills buying faction points from a recruiter at a huge price, and talking to jawas. Plus understanding other players lingo. Since all players can learn most lingo pretty useless.


Imperial crackdown smuggleing. Once again totally devoid of value. Yeah I know the troopers got a kick up, but there are still huge freaking loopholes in the system. Its pretty simple for any player to avoid scans just do not go to imperial cities. Neutral players get a slap on the wrist fine, and the Imperials just get away with it.


So all in all smuggler. Could be said to have only gotten the spice slice scans, but the loopholes make it worthless. For players actually needing a smuggler to smuggle.


Thus this profession has really gotten nothing since game launch thats a real long time.


Meanwhile architect has gotten the player city structure bonus. Where you got more stuff to make. You occassionally get new schems for paintings and what not. Beleive it or not that is more then the smugglers have ever gotten. Do not get me wrong I think alot of the other crafters got a raw bone. I personally think structures should have to deal with decay. So players have to replace them from time to time, and structures should be more varied.


Anyway my smuggler friend is right. Nobody is as boned as smuggler. In decreased value length of wait for any content. Plus the fact that the profession is just utterly vacant of content. Empty trees pointless skills weaponsmiths and armorsmiths cutting freelance smugglers out. Toxic spices. Pvp weak. Pve weak. No combat skill mods. No weapons certs. This profession isnt two dimensional or one dimensional. Its no dimensional. The only thing thats there is FD which jedis snatch up with DF 1, and sliceing which most master crafters snatch up just for the sliceing.


Your content may be less then invigorateing, but you did get content, and you do get a steady stream of content. Smuggler has just never even got any of that. Smuggler is starveing, and your complaining about not haveing enough flavors of icecream. Which I am sure seems intollerable to you, but the smuggler is picking crumbs and spills up off the floor.

What are you smoking??? You speak of architects as if we are getting all sorts of attetion, we have had very very few updates to our profession. When SOE finally does put some new schematics they are worthless loot drops for furniture, wow that sure boosted sales and raked in the cash. Armorsmith is getting an overhaul becuase it has to. But weaponsmith has had several schematics added from various sources, giving all sorts of new stuff to craft. As for not getting any new schematics for WS, how do you know? Do you think AS's have known about the new armor for some time? No that snuck up on us. As for weapons from the way it sounds, sounds to me like WS will pick up, becasue more weapons will be usaeble.


Don't get me started on the "Lack of love" fora crafting profession I could go on all day about how things in the Architect profession has been largely ignored.
