Thread: Petition for crafting enhacement to stay :D
I as a MWS am glad the changes are gone. Most of the resource specific weapon's stats went down because of it, and I am using the best resources in the game on Lowca (since of August last year).
Also, I made my break into WS as a 0-0-2-4 smith making noob weapons. That would be completely gone. Under the new patch , SOE might as well put one skill block for 63 skill points that requires the 4 million+ xp labeled MWS. Advancement in the tree would be pointless.
There are ways tofix the crafting system but the last patch was not it. Hopefully SOE will try again.

Take a look at my registration date, and how many posts I've made since then.In short, I am not a whiner or a post-whore. I'm just a guy that has been quitely enjoying the game (sometimes more than others but that's life) since launch.I started out in Combat and a few months ago I decided to go for WS. I'm not some mind-numbing power-gamer loser with too much time on my hands or some kid that hasn't hit puberty yet therefore doesn't require getting out of the house to spend time with members of the opposite sex. In case you have a hard time swallowing those statements, that means that I am a casual gamer that actually ENJOYS the game rather than spending every waking moment grinding away when the servers are up and then post-whoring when they're not.Now that you've got some background on me and my point of view I'm going to tell you why this patch should be crammed up the rears of the people that spitted it out.- Anyone EXCEPT MWS's have NO CHANCE WHAT SO EVERto break into the market. The reason being is that everything I make now around 3/4 of what I made BEFORE this patch and I have EXCELLENT resources. The only reason that I have as many customers as I do is because I'm not an elitest pig of a WS that most of us are percieved to be. I repair people's weapons for free and am always willing to help them out.- You're only justification for this nonsense is that "MWS should be able to make better weapons that a new WS". Well I got news for you intellectual giants. TAKE A LOOK AT THE DAMN SKILL TREE!!!! You stupid idiots already do just in the types of weapons you can make!!!! You see any NWS's making T-21's or Laser Rifles? Are you people dense or did you spend too much time Macro-Grinding to notice the tree on the way up?- Oh, and some of you have horded so many resources you have forgotten how expensive it is to keep harvesters running. If I can't sell a weapon for over 5k... do the math. Even before the patch I was LUCKY to sell a weapon for 18k (currently the best Laser Rifle I have ever made after slice). If you dissagree with this, fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but just know that there are still a lot of us that are laughing at how retarded you are. There's your flame... did you like it?
I agree with the concept you have presented. I have never agreed with the "I am not a power gamer and cant put in the time others can so cater to me please" attitude, hey its the way it works, you put in more time you deserve more "reward". But you are right in saying that this patch wouldnt have helped anyone. HOWEVER now that it came out and all the 12 point MWS's in the game have exploited it by making schematics of superior products. It HAS to stay or else all us 10pt smiths will not be able to compete for the next 6 months even if we obtained 12 points along the way.

Hmm, strong words there. This is not exploiting. Just like people who screamed when factory runs of the "limited" schematics were made. If it was an exploit then I expect SOE to Ban all accounts that did this. But they won't. It iwas something that they knew was going to happen. If they had not wanted it to happen they would have delayed the publish 7 by a day and fixed it then. Now here comes someone "That is not how they intended it to be used so it is an exploit" Well that is a bunch of c-r-a-p. They didn't intent people to power grind professions so is that an exploit. They didn't intend people to camp so is that en exploit. They didn't intend people to be defence stackers is that an exploit. No, it was a part of the game that they are changing. They fully intended for this patch to go in and players to do exactly what they did. Hey, that is life. Deal with it.
FYI, I did make some schematics but not in the 10's of thousands that you are talking about. I think I personally have 10-15 schematics that I made.
Read some of the posts in this forum that explain why it is bad. Try to look at more than just max damage numbers.
The crafting change is the worst idea ever. The 12 point smiths supporting it are greedy backstabbing SOBs who don't givea **edit** about anyone but themselves. Here, this pretty much sums up their attitudes: "I got mine, to hell with the rest of you". This change shouldn't even have gone live for one instant let alone for a whole day; now the damage is done. And I think the devs knew what they were doing; it was a deliberate attempt on their part to divide the crafting community and try to build support from some segment, even a minority segment of 12 point smiths, so they would have an excuse to use to keep the change in place or to reintroduce it at a later time. Basically the Devs offered a bribe to the 12 point smiths, and they gladly took it, even if it screws over the rest of the community.
And no, I'm not some newbie smith who can't compete. In fact, under the traditional system I could compete just fine. The new system would reduce competition, to the sole benefit of treacherous, backstabbing 12 point smiths.
To those few 12 point smiths standing on principal and for the good of the community, I salute you. For the rest of you treacherous dogs, there's a special place in Hell for you.
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
at this point the only real issues are:
1. y in the hell did they let the cat out of the bag at all?
2. How are they gonna put it back in?
"after a very thorough 5 hours of crafting last night here are my findings:
If a crafter crafts something with materials 900 or better avg for primary stats of crafted item they get +7% on a great and +8% on an amazing. What this means to non-crafters, i make crafting tools with 983CD, the tools really on CD. Prepatch they would get 98% total experimentation with 10 points, with the new system with a few amazings and all greats i was able to get 100% experimentation. This is good for 1 stat items where said resource spawns over 900 in prime attribute.
The downsides: I made some melee wpn components using 850SR, melee comps go off SR. With all10 pts the best i could get was 5% worse then prepatch(this is with some amazing results, the greats gave 6%, amazing's 7%+). Tests with ranged weapons were even more terrible.
Why am i bothering to repeat all this, when it has been said before....
I Propose that the developers intiate a hybrid of these 2 systems. Allowing amazing results to make a product go beyond its normal %'s based limits in the prepatch system. This would level the playing field on materials that are close in %'s but not identical and also allow for equipmentmakers to distiguish themselves via hard work trying to earn amazings, which previously had little value over a great. I hope this is considered it would level those that are already close to performance and for those whom spend the time allow them to make truly top of the line gear."
Maybe we all cant agree on having one or the other but why cant we have both? seriously think about it, amzaing results and taking time to get good schems should be just as important as not getting a POS wpnjust because plumbum iron always always sucks. I say we get the best of both worlds.
