Thread: weapon dps is a joke...

This is how the cool down timer works before you can fire you next shot...


Your modified speed X your special speed (now this if for 2 differnt shots, and the cap is one)


rangedshot = 1 shot speed


placedshot = 1.3 shot speed


So for this combo you want you modified speed at .77or .76 once you get lower it does make no differnce becuase of the1 cap and .77 (even though 1.001 with placed) will allow you to fire after placed in 1 second.



Now sac does mean something .... for example if your sac is 130 and you try the above combo ranged placed... you will need food and still run out of sac pretty quick.


From testing I have found thatyou still needunder 120 sactodo this with a modifed of.77 (Important for rifles and heavy weapons builds)



Another point to consider is if you have a weapon with high elemental (like a , nyms, trando pis, or most heavy weapons)


As of now you elemental damage still does not get multiplied by the damage multiplier (except it will with torso, why only torso i have not clue.. maybe has something to do with ticks)



So for a LBC or katarn TKA running a ranged / placed maco with speed pup is even more important, because all those 1.7- 1.9 damage multipliers on your specialshots is not applied to the elemental damage. A huge diffence with a 180acid nyms or 200 electrical LBC





is this shot speed from your testing? not seen numbers before, is there anymore you can show us, would beinteresting to see.


Just a thought, assuming this method is correct - from my experiences it seems very close if not perfect. so, we know, speed modifiers relating weapon speed to actual fire speed, action use in real % terms to SAC cost and expected damage from any shot against any target. so we have no reason why we can't work out the 'Perfect' stats for a weapon including shot types to use and pups? am i corect?

Those are some bad damage pups you accounted for in your sheet... I got some from a crafter I know that are +30% dam but only +5% speed... Damage pups look a lot better if you get stats like that

So the challenge is, who using this sheet can hit the highest DPS with the corresponding SAC/s being under 5

gotta narrow the assumptions i guess, kinda from fuzzy memory i remember regen being at about 4-5% a tick (tick being 1 sec) the exact figure being slightly dependant on buffs, foods, debuffs, Race...?

The exact values will be very hard to come by, as you say food etc will make it different for every player, but what re are really concerned about is just a rough comparison...

might see if i can add in something to show how long you'd last roughly too if you use a combination that hasa SAC/sec higher than 5%. see if its anywhere near close.

What it does show even now is that with your gun you would be better off with a speed pup using ranged/placed combo than a SAC pup with crit/leg combo...



Using this to tweek the stats of the weapon you are holding may yeald even more DPS

with the new time of attack i put in, it might help sway people to use the higher damage attacks if they beleive it iwll bea shorter fight perhaps

BTW I have to ask, is that a real weapon you have put into the stats.... 525/1148 damage, 82 SAC and 2.15 speed

on the elemental damage...


the fact that its not influence can also be an advantage, when you're stating people, you're using specials with a dam. mod lower than X1, but your target still gets hit for FULL elemental damage.


also, normal damage gets reduced by 30%, elemental does not...
