I dont think you should base the price off just resources and component...those two should be the base price to 'make' the actual item.....you forgot to include the most important thing which was the skill to make the weapon...thats what allows us to give them the service and makes us the money. Without tthe skill...we would be nothing...I tried doing something like that...but figured it was too hard to be able to include all that so I use my best judgement and pretty much just test how people accept certain prices.

If the formula worked like that and every single person in the universe followed it...

A weaponsmith with just Advanced Firearms 2 would be charging the same for the scout blaster as a Master Weaponsmith making the same scout blaster.

my formula is:

All weapons for 500 cr... it's the only way I can hope to compete >_> <_< with my current weaponsmithing "skill"

One day I was reading up on how a WS sold sliced guns. Ever since then 99% of my sales are sliced and Krayt guns.

Folks love to know how good the gun is after its slice. They dont mind payingA LOT more if they can see your 25 sliced rilfes and see the different prices and the different slices. I only sell 8 guns a day for 350k but I don't have to burn myself out making tons of guns and selling them so cheaply. On your server make the best, slice the best throw them on the vendor and let the fighting begin.

Folks will pay 25k to 100k for a great sliced gun. They dont have to keep buying guns until the get a damage slice or a speed slice or get a decent slice. Folks dont want to waste time when they are rich and there is nothing else to buy. Its funnier to be out shooting a nice gun.

This keeps you from burning out and keeps you with plenty of resources and time to enjoy yourself instead of making this game a chore/job.

Enjoy the advice, its made the game fun for me. (Master for 4.5 months)

I don't have a magic scheme for pricing. I ran around to a bunch of shops for other smiths and wrote down what they are selling (stats) and for how much (price). Then I went home and compared to what I make.

My goal is not to be the cheapest or the most expensive around. Discounting hurts you a lot since it is money left behind. Being expensive can price out out. I aimed to be in the middle.

After looking at this, I scale the price based on the effectiveness of the gun. A Scout and a DL18 take about the same to make, but the Scout is much better, so it costs more. Still, some people want DL18's so I make them and sell them.

That said, I'm not afraid to request money for my guns. If someone wants a Republic Blaster, I ask for 12k (for example). The guns I make are among the highest quality in my galaxy so I feel I can charge reasonably for them.

When it comes down to it, money is an easy thing to come by for people that buy weapons regularly. They are not afraid to part with it for something with real value to them.

Sure, some people don't like parting with any of their money and think guns should be cheap. I don't see them spending 10 hours a week hunting the best quality resources on bazaars, private vendors, and with their own harvesters. I don't see them spending hours working out stats on resources to figure out what will make the best weapons. When it comes down to it, I'm charging for my time far more than for the resources.

Best of luck,

These are my prices for weapons and I make nearly 1-3mil a day sellin since the last patch,,4 vendors 2of them sellin sliced weapons:

T21-50k

Laser Carb/Rifle: 20k

Scouts: 10k

FWG5: 10k

Scatter/Launcher:15k

Melee Weapons:10k

VKs:were 10k but raised to 15k and still sellin a 100+ a week

DX weapons:15-20k

FTs/LLCs/HARs: 20k

HPBCs: 25k

I have not had a complaint with my prices in months so I havent changed em much.I also stock krayt sliced weapons occasionally which sell within a day (have 3 hired hunters).

The basis I started with was 5k per power handler then market demand.
