Thread: Petition To Remove Uber Loot Weapons. *IMPORTANT*

The whole debate of if this will make a large impact on the weapon economy is just one part of this issue. Until we see the effects over time it will be largely left to personal spectulation. So Myself and everyone else here can only say what they "think" will happen. Personally from what I have seen in other games, it makes a difference, regardless of rarity. However there is a much more important part to this problem.

We are WS because we want to make the best weapons we can. We strive to be the best quality on our server, it is what we are all about. We spend hours collecting resources to acheive this goal. The exsistance of loot dropped weapons that exceed our greatest creations totally negates this, negates the basic goal of our entire class. There is no need to speculate on this because I fell it right now, and I can see other smiths expressing the same feelings around me. Take a look at other threads, how many masters can you count that have made posts saying they are worried it has all been for nothing.

Oh man this sucks! I really do hope that this is a mistake. I am just now starting to grow a customer base. I have no problem with npc dropped items but I think they should follow the same rules that we have too. If an npc can make this why cant we? What resources did they use and how come we have not had access to them? I just feel like just because it is npc made it should be no better than what a Master Weaponsmith can make given the resouces that have been available. And really a Tusken Rifle with 700+ dmg that just goes against the whole description of Tuskens, who are supposed to use old guns that they took from persons that they had killed. I really hope this get resolved and soon.

I'll sign it.

I don't really mind the theory of having interesting weapons drop. Like the poisoned weapons are sort of neat.

But a weapon dropping that is VASTLY superior to a player crafter (even krayt-crafted) weapon in EVERY ASPECT is just plain dumb.

I am, I suppose, a casual player. With my work load and job stress, I chose a crafting profession because it allows me to play in a relaxed manner while still providing('til now I suppose) value to others in game. (I am working on Pistoleer for the odd times I want to run around shooting at stuff ;^)

I quickly fell in love with the concept of "player made = best made"... something unique within the games I have played in the past... take that away from me as a weaponsmith and I suppose I will become an architech (on the assumption that deeds will be the last thing to become uber-drops... lol) but the fun will certainly have been sucked out of the game for me...

To the devs: Why should I work through artisan, work through weaponsmith, set up a shop, search the galaxy for all the right resources, beg for enhancers... all so that I can finally create a weapon... the best possible that I can make... only to see that some drop off of some desert dwelling second-hand owner far and away eclipses anything I could hope to create?

By the way... to those who say people will still want to buy from crafters (other than as waypoints on their way to their first uber-drop) I say this...

My first thought when I read this was... "darn... if this stays in game, how can I get one?"

...and I'm a crafter at heart! My brothers both play... they are combat types... I know what they will think of this... "sorry bro... but I got this now, see?"...

I'm just posting to register my oposition to this petition. The lack of good loot in the game is one of its weakest point. You can tell everyone who wants loot to go play Everquest or something, but the fact of the matter is, from a finacial standpoint SWG needs to cater at least somewhat to the loot desiring playerbase, because we are a very sizable group. If the RIS armor quest is any indication of what is coming for crafters, then you guys have nothing to worry about when it comes to being able to make "uber" items that everyone will be drooling after. One of the biggest problems with this game's player driven economy so far is that there are almost no elite items. Any player, by do nothing more than grinding out low level missions can get his hands on the best stuff in the game. This might be acceptable game mechanics for some, but I think the devs are starting to realize that this is not an acceptable way for things to work for a very large segment of the playerbase. This game needs more and better types of every sort of loot, i.e., more types of loot drop components and enhancers, more quests that unlock new schematics, more types of rare, unique items, more skill enhancing attachments, and more types of "uber" weapons and armor.

I'll support this petition one of the biggest selling points for SWG for me is the player economy and the idea that we as players can make the best items in the game. There's already a loot system to give superior items, item enhancements, Why on earth are they bypassing crafters from contributing?

I'm given enhancements by my brother and friends and I put them in items for them. I enjoy crafting gear for them and contributing to the sucess of their combat characters, the better I craft the stronger they become the more my skills shine. I gain pride and happiness from this and every class is involved. I just dont understand the reasoning for direct drops better than what Master weaponsmiths can make.

No way I'm singing this crybaby post.

We have a thread where weaponsmiths are bragging abouttheir millionaire bank accouts, and now you are worried that you will go broke over some loot drops.

Get a life, the game does not revolve around you.
