Being a good weaponsmith is a powergame. If you dont want to put in the effort to make top shelf weapons than it probably wont be satisfying for you. I feel your pain man, if you were on my server i would give you a few mediums. Nothing more bitter sweet than seeing a weaponsmith making crappier weapons than me 
I must warn you that getting a good quality on all the resources you need for weaponsmith is a long process. I have been a master for about a year now and am finallygetting my resource collection to where none of my weapons are an embarassment(my T21's are still 6 points under standard max dmg,I think its my ditanium). Well with all that being said best of luck..... may the schwartz be with you

I have on occassion used this techinique:
Offer to mine a specific resources in exchange for harvestors. Lots are extremely limited and therefore valueable to use. You currently have 10 lots and from what I understand simply can't use most of them at the moment. If there is a particularly good spawn of something up on your server(ie if your weaponsmith you should know if there are any good WS resources out there currently) then find a major crafter of that profession and offer to use all 10 of your lots to mine the resources in exchange for harvestors. You can even find some that are willing to supply you the cash/power to run them for the extent of the spawn.
The downside to this is that you miss whatever the current spawn is. However you will now be set up to mass harvest the next spawn when it comes around. BER10 harvestors are usually pretty cheap and most crafters would easily be willing to fork over the cash to buy you 10 BER10 harvestors just to get the resrouces those would bring in on a single shift. Frankly it's a very small investment for most major crafters to make if it's a good spawn.
