As some of you may or may not know, SOE organized a Correspondent Summit this weekend. They flew around 35 of us to Austin where we spent many, many hours pouring over the Combat Balance.

Right now, I cannot give you any specifics, however, I will tell you that I am absolutely thrilled with the design docs. I have an enormous amount of optimism for the future of Combat and Weaponcrafting that I did not hold before. You'll be hearing about the proposed balance changes soon, though.

I did get the opportunity to bring up a few of the issues expressed here, most specifically Grenades. To say the least, they know how screwed Grenades are and they most definitely will be addressed. But for now, I cannot say anything more than that.

I met pretty much everybody working on SWG and I have full permission to regale you with tales about them, though. Feel free to shoot me questions and I'll answer as much as I can. Lastly, I'll be drafting the Sandbox Application post soon, so be on the lookout for that over the next day or two.

I was amazed it is now being shipped to Wisconsin. Everything goes good with Shiner.

Blah, so not fair.

At least they brew good beer in Virginia... and I'm close enough to Pennsylvania that Yuengling isn't too hard to find.

You youngsters could have put more hair on your chest if it was wintertime. That's when they brew up the Shiner Triple Bock. It's also doubles as pancake syrup.

As much as I'd like to keep discussing beer, I'll attempt to steer the thread back towards the topic since I'm one of the ones who drove it off topic to begin with. =)

Ace, what kinds of things do you think we'll have input on? Crafting requirements? Schematic placements (in the WS tree, I mean)? Weapon certifications?I mean, while we do craft this stuff and know the weaponry pretty well, where do you think we'll be able to contribute?

What kinds of things are we specifically going to include and exclude from discussion? (Limited-use schematics, for example. I realize that perhaps this isn't expressly a combat issue, but it is a weapon availability issue, which has the potential to affect combat balance.)

Thanks man! Been grinding the Jedi for a few months now...Glad to be back actually..Jedi is still being played, looking for some better Desh and better Ostrine

You know the drill...

Decided to skip sticking to melee only (as the pike business went south with the looted stuff). Will have to wait for the CR and hope "The Man" doesn't stick it to us

Congrats on your Jedi toon. I haven't spent much time working with mine simply because I see no reason to rush into a broken system (the FRS). =)

I dunno why your pike biz is so slow, mine has been booming the past 6 weeks or so. Must be all those people grinding it out, though sales started to pick up when the DWB opened (apparently most things in there only have electricity vuln).

Schematic placements and certs aresomething I think we're going to see a lot of discussion on in the future and a hell of a lot of input from our part. That's about all I can say without giving too much away.

However, I do not think we are going to beseeing much discussion on thingslike Experimentation, Novice-Master issues, etc. Limited-use schematics, looted components and all drops related to weapon-crafting may be touched on, but to what extent, I'm unsure.

The new Combat Balance proposals should be available to the public a week from today, but that date is subject to change. In other words, you'll get to see for yourself very soon and then I'll be able to tell you a lot more about what we should expect in the future.

Fair enough, thanks for the reply. Guess we can all play with Pub 10 in the meantime.
