Heh, with armor and a well crafted CDEF, the Sith won't be a problem

But yeah, crafters especially get the screw in this. Unless you're in a guild or have some benevolent friends, you might be forced to pay for a group to take you up there and do it while you sit there.

Yeh I spent a while in the warren..got 1 badge...did nym and jabba's with my mate soI need two more now (stoopid Warren turret or id only need 1 !)

Is there a good Warren walkthroough anyone would swear by !

As for the grind, I make wepaons every day and get nothing for it...so even if it took 6 months, at least my weapon making would be for something (exp wise) !

Technically, to do the 2nd badge of the Warren, all you need to do is hand in the evidence, so you don't have to set foot in the place.

I know this for a fact, 'cause I did it with a friend, and she totally forgot to download the evidence.

So I went through it by myself after server reboot (I'm on GMT so that's like 1pm ), and got the evidence. She handed it in and go the badge.

Mind you, being a Rebel with Warren: Imperial Hero is a bit embarrassing......

Am I the only one that feels the crafting xp requirements are a bit unrealistic for us to grind out the xp need to master each branch of the FS crafting trees, I mean come on TH make up your mind you want us to grind or do you want us to do quests? basically instead of grinding out holo profs, weaponsmiths get to grind their profession 5 times, the grind of choice by most weaponsmiths is projectile rifle barrels. at 1,225,000 force crafting xp multiplied by 5 being 6,125,000 regular crafting xp. multiply that by 4 just for the crafting tree wha huh 24,500,000(thats 283,000 Projectile rifle barrels)........ duh do you want people to quit this game TH, actually I think it crutial to the success of this game that you seek alternate employment.

Everything that hits live has to through you Mr. Stangl and So far everything pushed live since you replaced Q3P0 has been a long shot from a disappointment(in the wrong direction I might add). You have screwed your vet players, you have screwed casual players(and punished them I might add) now you spit in the face of crafters. You deserve to hear every nasty, hateful thing anyone has to say to you. You are like the antithesis of King Midas, everything you touch turns to crap. You are the wheel wedge that prevents this game from reaching its full potential. Mabey you would be better suited for flipping burgers or pumpong gas, whatever the case mabey you have been a failure at SOE, and SOE has no room for failures like your self with their poor track record.

I dont know what else to add that would be relevant to this thread but since publish 10 this game has been a sad shell of what itpreviously was, planets are empty(no spawns for thousands of meters),We trade one sad grind for another sad grind, lol which is funny if you think that a casual gamer(crafter) would play the game for what it was worth and not power grind. Just make weapons for players and aquire their required xp at a casual pace. you think they would stick around to achieve jedi "haha" or better yet you think this game will last long enough for someone to acheive jedi, then you are kidding your self. every patch is just an oppertunity for you to make more empty future promises.

Like I said it is imparative that you resign from this game

Yo, ScotchandTronic, take a breath.

First off, if you're stuck in the grind menatlity, go grind Heavy Warheads. They give roughly8 times as much xp as the Rifle Barrels.

Secondly, there *is* such a thing as 'use xp'. The XP you get from people using your stuff.

I checked my Weaponsmith XP today. It's at 120k. Funnily enough, I didn't 'grind' Weaponsmith since I mastered it several months ago. I have NO idea when it hit 120k.

If you need Jedi *now*, then yeah, this change sucks.

Me, I think it's a *great* change.

First off use xp is a joke, second off you get no xp for factory crafted items. So lets have a little case study here we will keep it real simple say for example I craft 10 jawa ion rifle a day by hand, btw i rarely craft 10 weapons a day by hand. Do you know how long you are looking at till you complete the crafting mastery tree........ 10 jawas a day........ SIX YEARS AND THREE MONTHS I would like a jedi before I qout this game lets put it that way.

I have an easier way of putting that SOE is to the crafter as (_))===D is to (( |the same can be said for veteran players and casual players.

Like I said this game wont last that long and as for taking a breath I have been here since launch, this is my very first rant, I have taken many deep breathes. SOE and TH, and in some cases Mr Lucas himself do not deserve to touch anything StarWars related.

But allow me to digress to my previous post mabey TH would be better suited for being a politian Seeing how he likes saying one thing and doing another and the pay scale would more closely match the bourgeoisie life style that bourgeoises pig has become a custom to on our hard earned dollar

I said it before and I will say it again TH you need to be ousted bolshevik style rolling head and all

you jackhole

< second off you get no xp for factory crafted items. >

Any chance you can stay off your soapbox for a moment?

This isn't correct.

This is *mostly* correct.

You still get UXP for charged items if made by a factory. So that's grenades, and consumables. Plus Powerups, if you do that sort of thing.

Since this afternoon, I've gained 1400 WS xp. I've made about 3 weapons (Custom Scout blaster (only crafting was final assembly), and 2 metal staves).

Again, like I said before, if you feel the need to grind, then at least grind efficiently, rather than picking an inefficient method and complaining about it......

And, just for a sense of scale, my WS xp has gone up to 1543 since my last post, and I've been sitting in a bar chatting all this time. No, it's *not* a huge amount.

But it's definitely *not* "a joke".

Ok so please point out where exactly I said we gained xp from factory made items I didn't. As a matter of fact I said we dont now based on you scale the 1400 you gained this afternoon plus the 1500 you gained while sitting at the bar and I'll give you an extra 100 to keep it clean and even based on 3000 ws crafting xp you are looking at a little over 5 and a half years to complete the force crafting mastery tree. gg all signs point to screwed crafter and screwed carual gamer which TH said both would be able to aquire jedi. oh but dont get me wrong is totally attainable if indeed this game lasts that long, which it wont.

But you speak as if I want to grind, I dont and that was the point of the new system to eliminate the grind. But SOE just traded one grind for another, only this time they dont use the lube. My point is that crafters get totally screwed even though weapons xp has a 30 to 1 conversion rate, combat classes still have a better shake than crafters get. In this case study we can use a TKA grinding pickets at 3500 a peice aproximately 16 pickets a lair plus 4k for the lair and they get combat xp which is a better rate at aquiring and converting than anything a weaponsmith can do. excuse me but can you point out the parallels. On top of that it is more expensive for us to to gain xp.

I can almost imagine you sitting at the bar w/ a cookie eating grin on your face refuting my valid stance in this issue. It leads me to only one conclusion you like it dry and sideways gg. but hey the longer they can string us along with jedi pipe dreams, the more cheese they can squeeze out of us. That is the whole point. I care for this game alot I remember seeing ESB in the theaters and I hate to see this marvelous game ruined by such a sad institutionthe likesof SOE w/ Kurt "choke fuc" stangl at the helm.

BTW Kurt lanky stangy I have another job oppertunity for you, side show freak, bulbous, protrusive goiter of an adams apple should bring a pretty penny among back woods carnival patrons, what are you gonna do once the new jedi quest confusion blows over and the player base realizes you have screwed them over once again. The wisest thing Sony could do is can you. where did you learn to micro manage K-mart

< Ok so please point out where exactly I said we gained xp from factory made items I didn't. >

I know.

I even quoted you.

I'm saying you *do* get UXP from factory-made consumables.

You also get UXP from custom items.

< I'll give you an extra 100 to keep it clean and even based on 3000 ws crafting xp you are looking at a little over 5 and a half years to complete the force crafting mastery tree. gg all signs point to screwed crafter and screwed carual gamer which TH said both would be able to aquire jedi. >

And again, you're just ranting, and not putting anything into context.

Yesterday was a slow day. Somedays I get asked for 10+ custom items. Which require subcomponents.

< In this case study we can use a TKA grinding pickets at 3500 a peice aproximately 16 pickets a lair plus 4k for the lair and they get combat xp which is a better rate at aquiring and converting than anything a weaponsmith can do. excuse me but can you point out the parallels. >

Here you are making false claims. Their combat XP gain is 10% that.

I can gain crafting xp *so* much faster than they can gain Combat XP.

In fact, I'm fairly sure I can gain Crafting XP faster than they can gain [insert weapon of choice] XP. Heavy Warheads are 735xp a pop. I can churn them out back to back while the supder TKA has to walk to his next mission.

Feel free to make a rational post *without* the insults.

I am not sure how many free unlocks you got but lets say you got 2 like me when do you honestly think you will aquire jedi. You wont be getting enough xp to learn a branch that corresponds to the vilage phase you are in, I will make the deal sweeter for you lets say you get 10000 xp a day thats 8 months for the two remaining branches you would need in the crafting tree not to mention you need to get 2 more branches fromanother tree, for a pure crafter the only option being senses, which unless you can scout you have to use surveying xp thats comes at an average of 36 points every 45 seconds w/ a 10-1 conversion ratio

oh wow a TKA has to walk to his misson big friggin deal and within a matter of minutes can aquire 60000 weapons xp and 6000 points of combat xp coming to a total of 4000 force combat xp what will take us aproximately 4 months can be done by a combat class in 1 week, and you think you can get xp faster than them making heavy warheads @ "735xp a pop" translates to 147 force crafting xp a pop what does it take about 260 seconds to clear one from a output hopper. sorry but your drunken math holds no water

But hey you know I understand, right now its really hard for you to back out of this argument. now you are just refuting for the sake of refuting. gg call back when you know what you are talking about

It's one thing to master WS without grinding...once. But to finish just one FS crafting branch is the equivalent of mastering WS 7 and a half times...or about 30 times for all four FS crafting branches (not counting the 50K FS crafting xp you need to get the 'novice' box). There's no way someone can finish the FS crafting branches in a realisitically timely fashion without doing some grinding.

In another post I broke down the numbers, but it requires 7,883 Heavy Warhead Mechanisms to finish one branch (again, not counting the 50K FS xp required for the novice box).Peopleon these forumshave claimed to be able to finish WS, using HWM, in six hours with a good macro. So, to finish a single branch would require more than 42 hours of grinding. Granted there are some people who don't have jobs, and who would probably be totally willing to grind 12 hours a day. Even so, it would take these power-grinders about 3 and a half days to finish a single branch...provided they didn't go mad or develop severe carpal tunnel syndrom first. Someone who has a job and can only grind a couple hoursa night is looking at 2-3 weeks of steadygrinding, maybe more. A casual player will need even longer.

I understand why the FS xp requirements are so high: SOE is trying to slow down the Jedi unlock rate. However, I have no interest in being a Jedi, I just want the FS crafting skills so I can be a better WS (and yes, I know they don't give 2 extra points). It would be nice if players like me could do this without spending 2-3 months of, quite literally, solid grinding; sometime before JtL is released would be nice. I think the xp conversion rates need to be reevaluated, though it probably won't happen.

That is totally my point, Jedi is an unrealistic goal for the casual crafter, I am not a casual crafter on the other hand I furiously hunt down resources, constantly crunch numbers making sure all the weapons I make are as good as my resource pool will allow, pay 60 cpu for certain out of shift resources that will make my weapons better, but the whole point of the new system was to eliminate the grind. It wasn't jedi that was ruining the game it was grinding and now they have made it more dangerous. grinding equals the devs lack of imagination and lazyness to develop a more imersive, entertaining content. another good example of this is SBD's.

By the way Brilyn I can make a rational post and be insulting at the same time, My vulgar articulation is 60% of my charm
