I am not an armorsmith but a commando. I would like to see, that they change the schematics for the heavy supports weapons. I always have some with me, but I never use them, its just not worth using them. Would be great if you for example could craft ammunition for them.

Hmm, archaic eh? Tell that to the Wookiee race, who use the Ryyk blade (as well as the Bowcaster) as a primary weapon. Personally, I feel that given the history of this weapon it should be increased to AP1 or AP2, but also be Wookiee only (kinda off subject though).

I would prefer to see this weapon as Wookie only, like Bowcasters. I also believe that it would benefit the game immensely for them to create other cultural specific weaons for the other races.

The two handed curved sword is AP2, if I recall.

Here in lies my confusion. You are correct about the two handed curved. As I seldom use the sword or curved sword I made the assumption that they held similar AR values. So it appears that this is the only weapon that I'm taking issue with. I dont see why this is AR2.

I'm not asking for Fencer weapons to get the shaft. I'm talking about stepping up the power of vibro-weapons or at least giving them a different damage type-(That is assuming they are kinetic) to increase their effectiveness.

Given the choice between style over substance. I'll take a sandwich.

I can't give you a developmental reasoning for why the Two Handed Curved Sword is AP2, but as a Master Swordsman, here's my stance on why it's feasible: As someone above mentioned, a bladewielder isn't going to try to hit an opponent's armor - in real combat, all that does is a) seriously wear on the blade, blunting it to the point of being useless and b) at best, knock the opponent's armor into him hard enough to maybe crack a rib. Instead, you're going to look for the unarmored spots - the armpits, the pelvic area, the elbows, the knees, etc. In this situation, I don't think "Armor Piercing" is necessarily literal. I think it means finding the cracks and gaps in an opponent's armor, and driving through to the flesh.

And I'm not meaning to single you out personally, but when people complain about swords being too archaic and thusly having no purpose in the Star Wars galaxy, I have to assume they know only what's been broadcast in the movies. Most swords made during this time period (the SW universe, that is) are made out of metals that are indeed stronger than 'earth' metals, and dipped in a fashion that sets them on par with any other sort of weapon. Vibro units exist in some weapons as a way of pulsing and rhytmically jolting an attack. And of course, the fabled energy swords (ie lightsabers). But even the plain two handed curved sword, in the SW universe, is forged to match its surroundings.
