Thread: Petition to delete the temp-nerf schems/weapons from the game **Keep at the top**

I refused to make schematics on that day. I think those that made them should have them removed.
Actually up until the day before the patch this was going to be the new system so that had EVERY intention of making this live. I hope they bring it back.

the point isn't whether you earned that 12 points or not. you probably did.
but the point is that one should not have an amazing advantage due to a patch that SOE never intended to go live. while i think that practically it will be tough to retrospectively remove all schematics (think of the headaches of ppl who made stuff with krayt or whatever), i also think that the WSs that are pounding their chests proudly proclaiming that their vast fortunes should entitle them to lord over the 10 point smiths who couldn't afford the tapes or 12 points smiths that couldn't log on is just a bit much, isn't it?
and you wonder why so many ppl think WSs are a$$holes and that we deserve to be overcharged on every loot item that is WS-related.

The day you move all the smiths closer in experimention is the day you loose all variation in weapons. Everyone will throw everything they got into damage cuse thats what sells. top damage.
... that's what everyone already does, because the other lines have such tiny effects that they're not worth the enormous loss of damage/speed you'd take by not maxing that first.
I don't think that these schematics will have any significant impact on the economy and other weaponsmiths. Especially since we have priced those guns a lot higher than our normal weapons (like 150k for T-21 instead of normal 35k - pretty high price to pay for 20 more ppt damage)
We made some really good guns which is better than anything else so far. But it was just not possible to make unlimited schematics anyway. To make a weapon schematic you first have to make a schematic, then make some in factory to be able to make the weapon schematic. It is really a time-consuming process. To make 1000 RBs you would need to make 6 schematics for example.
I spent a lot of time crafting and I was probably not able to make more than 10-12 weapon schematics. Wish I had been more cleaver and for example made more T-21s than I did.
Since you were not able you also don't know how much extra experimentation was required. Got a lot of variou results, even with all great success. And strange things like using best polymer (1000 OQ) in ABPHgiving you worse results (compared to using 932/925 OQ polymer).
The devs could have stopped this one-day change if they really wanted to, but they didn't so I am pretty sure there will be nothing done to the weapons or schematics made.

It created a gap between WS that bought/looted Weapon Experiment tapes and those that didn't. The 10pt WS didn't believe that they could sell any weapons. (More ignorance than anything else) While I admit that 12 pt WS were much better after the patch but i would expect that.
Just a note, it's not ignorance that suggested that if the nerf had stayed in place the Weaponsmith craft would have been divided into two camps: 12 point Master Smiths with the best resources, and Not. That is exactly what would have taken place. Now the degree to which this would have affected sales for the 10 point smiths initially is debatable, the overall trend is not. I'm a 10 point smith, with the cash to be a 12 point smith but generally haven't seen fit to make it so, I would have easily been one of the 'haves' in the new-nerfed world order, but personally I didn't want to see such a huge drop-off in the # of competitor's in the Ahazi market.
That being said, I don't care about the 3/17 weapons. Should they be around? No. But dealing with them is a huge coding issue and I think the Dev's time is best spent elsewhere. I have a 12 point smith down the stretch from my shop advertising his new wares on the forum, and it's had all sorts of positive effects sine most of my weapons are better than his, with the exception of the 3/17 ones which will soon be gone.
I made about 20 DXR-6b's, 5 Sonic Blasters, 10 Flamethrowers, 50 VK's.
I refused to make chematic to be using after they removed the patch, but on the same note, they encouraged use to use the system because it was better.
The patch should have been notfixed on their end, recompiled then released, or it should have been live for a week to give everyone a fair chance to make their schematics.
I spent most of my 17th online comparing my 10point weapons to my 12 point weapons. I was online only 4 or 5 hours (celebrating St. Patties Day)
So far, from what I've seen and heard the impact of the 3/17 patch going live is minimal. I made a schem of hybrid T21's, and yes, they flew off the vendor. But the con of those weapons is a lot lower than the normals from prepatch, and the ones made today. Some of those weapons have already been burnt up with use.
The power handlers/feed mech schems made that day have a few points more min/max damage, but in the end there is a lot more to a weapon than just those components, and not all weaponsmiths use the same resources in the final build. I consider the 3/17 schems to be more of a novelty than something that gives a serious advantage to those that made them. If you have a good clientel and make consistently good weapons, the impact on you will be 0%.
