Get yourself a macro.

Get yourself 6 weapon/droid/general itemcrafting tools (why not use what you'll be making weaponry with to recoup some of the cost eventually anyway)

Make projectile pistol barrels until Firearms 1, at which point you make projectile Rifle barrels.

Basically, you get 2 exp per every 1 unit of resource used, plus an additional 5% for practicing.

Master WS requires something along the lines of 860k (not exact, I'm not in-game to re-check that number, but its pretty accurate) weapon crafting exp.....thats easy, its like 450k units of steel (including failure rates and such)

Once you can make projectile rifle barrels, you make 31+15 (required steel) x 2 = 92 + 5% of 92 for practicing = 97 points of experience per projectile rifle barrel.

Get yourself a 5 button mouse, set one of the buttons to double-click when clicked once (thank me later).

I have my macro set to a 4 second delay for me to click my resources (which is only that long to account for server lag) and I have a setting of 2 seconds for the time between the closing of one tool and the opening of the other. This means I get 97 exp every 6 seconds. Thats 970 Exp/Minute. Thats 58200 an hour.

Since we know you need 860k of experience, divide that by how much you get an hour, and you find out it takes you roughly 15 hours (once again including 15 minutes leeway for failures) to Master Weaponsmith.

I suggest getting the Weapon crafting tree first (far right) as that will drastically cut down on your failure rate, which will drastically cut the amount of steel and time wasted on failures.

Basically, get yourself some coffee, get yourself a day off, and get yourself a comfortable chair.

Finally, Start Clicking. =)

Of course if you're like me and get massive headache's from grinding then go up munitions until you hit heavy warheads then grind those to death. You'll need some serious skevon gas, anda wider range of other resources, but take a look at the EPC (experince per click. :} ) and you'll see why I did it that way.

I use a logitech mouse and the util for it includes remapping buttons, I managed to get the left button AND right buttons setup for double click for the 3 resource armorsmith grind. Middle button is left click. I just remap back to normal when I'm not running a macro.

Even after the xp changes for BH, the final BH box requires 40 hours of grinding, but that's not including the 20% bugged rate of missons.

I became a pure crafter because it truly appealed to me, I never used macros and took me almost 2 months to become a Triple Master with a Minor.

I have become more thankfull everyday that the Jedi desire never appealed to me, course most would not have endoured the agony of getting Triple Mastering skills with a Minor. Humm, I very well could be one of the very few.

As for help, you need steel by the ton's, you had better stack harvesters deep on a good spot, you will need more than you really know.

Exactly how many rifle barrels do you need to make in order to become a master weaponsmith :]

Or how much steel do you need to become a master weaponsmith after you get 0/0/1/0 (whatever it is for riflebarrels).

I heard you need around 250k of steel to master it.

I'm another holo chaser and I'm going the metal staff route, they just use 42metal so you don't have to be quite as fussy about where you drop the harvs.

Which is nice , I've always hated surveying.

Here is a great post from SWGCraft by a guy named Tuckiee

Ok 20 minutes ago I made a post that went into specifics between Projectle Rifle and Pistol and Blaster RIfle. I'll do it again and hope I can actually post this time (lasttime I got an invalid session)

After much consideration into which route I was going I decided with Projectile Rifle Barrels (even though above I priased Blaster RIfle Barrels and here is why)

All the below calculations is based off of how much XP I need to master.
I am also figuring a 1 out of 30 Failure Rate, which from the hundreds of barrels I've made seems pretty accurate.

I need 696.5k WS XP to master.

Projectile Pistol Barrels = 50xp Yield 26steel

To Hit master I need to make 13,930 Barrels
At 6 a minute thats 2322 Minutes or 38.7 hours
Total Steel needed 362,180

Failures= 465
Time wasted with failures 77.5 minutes or 1.3 hours
Material Wasted with Failures 12,090

Totals
------
Barrels Attempted 14,395
Material Used 374270
Time Spent Crafting 40 hours (almsot exactly)

Projectile RIfle Barrels = 94xp Yield 31 steel 15 metal Total Material 46
To Hit master I need to make 7410 Barrels
At 6 a minute thats 1235 Minutes or 20.6 hours
Total Materials needed 340,860

Failures= 247
Time wasted with failures 41.2 minutes or .69 hours
Material Wasted with Failures 11,362

Totals
------
Barrels Attempted 7657
Material Used 352,222
Time Spent Crafting 21.29

Blaster Rifle Barrels = 120 xp Yield 53 Steel 5 Crystalized Gems Total Material 58

To Hit master I need to make 5805 Barrels
At 4 a minute thats 1451.3 Minutes or 24.2 hours
Total Steel needed 336,690

Failures= 194
Time wasted with failures 48.5 minutes or .81 hours
Material Wasted with Failures 11,252

Totals
------
Barrels Attempted 5,999
Material Used 347,942
Time Spent Crafting 25 hours (almost exactly)

Now as you can see to make Pistol Barrels your going to work twice as long, so thats out of the question. Looking at materials, and XP, Blaster Rifle Barrels is the way to go.

BUT...Look at time, is the Extra 4 hours spent crafting really worth the 4280 material difference? I value my time over how many materials I can use, which is why I choose this route.

If someone could use a similar calculation for Heavy Axes please do tell me.

Now I recently sold 10 scout blasters (pretty decent for tech 3 2.6-3.0 speed with damage varying in the range of 38-99) so I am getting UXP on top of my crafting XP, so depending how often the blasters are used will change the time I need. I use my own blaster and I get between 1-3 UXP every kill. Its not a lot but if I sell all 30 pistols I made, 30-90xp per kill can add up bigtime.
