This is probably the best list I've seen yet. With the exception of grenades I've personally experienced all the bugs DarkCipher listed. I agree they are all unique to weaponsmith and thus should be the kinds of things we submit to be fixed. Resources are random and that's part of the fun, searching for better resources to tweak your components. Harvesters and factories are a pain but are not issues unique to the weaponsmith profession and thus should be addressed after the WS specific problems.

I say we just send in this list next. Thanks for a quality post DarkCipher.

Here are some of the more IMPORTANT ones:

** The Chemical Dispersion Unit and Advanced Chem Disp Unit still CANNOT be experimented on for DMG , still stays at 0% when you try to raise it, even on great/amazing success. (WAS said to be fixed this patch, it is not) This has been broken since beta.

** The Advanced Projectile Feed Mechanism and the Projectile Feed Mechanism initially shows up with the max available experimentation possibilties for the resources used (in this example lets say 75%). Upon your FIRST experiment run (no matter how many points you run at a time), the MAX experiment effectiveness drops down to where you can never hit that 75% target, even if you got all amazing/great successes... This is unique to these 2 components, and gates all weapons utilizing it. This has been broken since beta.

**The Advanced Projectile Pistol Barrel always starts at a MAX experimental effectiveness of 8% no matter how good the resources are. So you are gated to only getting like 10/10 dmg out of your experiments which gates all weapons using this component. Been broken since beta as well.

**The Projectile Pistol Barrel a lways starts at a MAX experimental effectiveness of 10% no matter how good the resources are. So you are gated to only getting like 10/10 dmg out of your experiments which gates all weapons using this component. Been broken since beta as well.

**[Dev Acknowledged Issue] Advanced Power handlers and Regular Power Handlersare not 'stacking' bonuses when more than one is required.

** Scopes and Stocks (Including Advanced Scopes and Stocks) are basically not adding ANY functionality to weapons. They are simply ADDING DMG, ADDING SPD (speed slows down), and Increasing HAM costs by approximately 66% (Usualy HAMs after Using a Scope/Stock is about 70-110). By these calculations there is no benefit to using them. This applies to EVERY weapon that you can utilze these with, no exceptions.

** Stocks have the same crafting problem as the Projectile Feed Mechanisms. After you add your resources and start the experiment phase, you have a max possibly experiment points (lets say 50%). After the first experiment run, the max effectiveness goes down and you can never reach that 50%, even if amazing successes.

** [Dev Acknowledged Issue] Factories not being able to make full weapons, stopping periodically for no known reason (even if resources are correct, etc).

** Crafted Grenades arent doing the damage they are stating... Some of the most basic like Frag grenade says it does over 400 max dmg.. but when a commando utilizes it, it does like 1-10dmg.

Forceone27 I agree 100% with what you say. JackStroud Master Weaponsmith. Also I have having problems getting Blaster Power Handlers from my creats. The last 3 times I made them only 10 will come out, the rest I can not get out. To day was just worthless, crafting not working right and factory's not working at all.

Sadly, as with many forums, Its seems people are more interested in insulting the very people trying to help them. Why do most of you call the correspondent stupid? He is simply posting the issues that got the highest amount of complaints in game. The forum was created to list those issues and get any more that you may have. If you people want your issues dealt with, perhaps you should talk with other crafters and see how many are having the same problem as you, and hey, how about using the Holonet to contact the devs when you experience problems. That is what its there for, and most probably the source they used for their list of common problems that you are complaining about. There, thats my shame on you message, I feal much better now. You may now resume your insulting remarks at the devs if you like, and at me as well, which I'm sure many of you will. Just remember, the only person to blame for your problem not being on the list is you, not a developer, and certainly not the correspondent they assign to run this thread.

Scopes are kinda fixed now -if you have 950-quality metal you can use all 10 experiment points in efficiency to reduce the additional cost to 0, and it still gives a +10 ideal range accuracy bonus even if you don't experiment that at all. Stocks, on the other hand, are still worthless. Can't experiment the HAM down unless you have ultra high shock resistance wood, which I have never seen, and the advanced stock is worse because of specific material requirements. Currently you cannot experiment the HAM on either stock down more than halfway, and they slow down weapons significantly while not really giving much of a damage boost.

Efficiency experimentation in general is still a waste of time. Why does it only do one point at a time when it used to work so much better?

I would like to see some issues raised that might help beginner weaponsmiths. Like perhaps a schematic of something we can actually sell, instead of just grinding out rifle barrels till we can make something of value. A beginer architect can make a small house and sell it. Good luck trying to sell anything as a Novice weaponsmith.

He hasn't done ANYTHING AT ALL for the past three weeks, he never posted here before becoming correspondent, and he sent in the first list of issues BEFORE asking what we thought of them.

Right now, this is my biggest problem.. I think this would also help all the riflemen who think the class needs tweaking, when it really doesn't.. its the bugged weapons that are the problem. Spraystick is a cool gun, but I think it would be more useful if these chem unit worked. I'm kinda pissed off about it, because I use rifle, and we can make advanced chem dispersions and they don't do ANYTHING over the regulars.. mainly because the idea of advanced comps is for better experimenting returns, which you can't do.

You forgot one tho.. along with the chem units for spraystick, there a control unit option, that appears to do absolutely nothing using one in it. I'm -assuming- that a control unit in a gun like this should increase your range mods. That would make the most sense, right? Also does the quality of the control unit really even count for any of these guns? Guns like the tangle pistol use it too, in which that gun has pretty awful stats even with good materials.

Seriously Dev's how are 90% of these WEAPONSMITH issues? There are all friggin general artisan issues. We need a new corrispondent and we needa new list of issues for you to look out. I know most people who post here are only concerned with their Master weaponsmiths, but what about novices? The d18's are horrible, I cannot give these away! Low end weaponsmiths need to at least make some money off of their profession. The way it looks now I might as well not take it off practice till I get close to Master. Let's get a new list of things that need to be addressed that actually relates to Weaponsmithing! Can I get an Amen?!

You can't EXPECT to compete with higher smiths, you haven't even broken off novice if you can only make D18's. This expected, and known for an economy like this. You need to just grid down on mining more minerals, and xp up higher. You may have to do missions to get some cash even for harv maint, or best to have friends/guild help.

Please don't take focus off the main profession issues because of a peronal problem with dealing with the economy

Where have you peeps who are complaining about our correspondant been? Did you just discover this board today?

Over the last week he solicited issues from users of this board, made up a big list of everything that was presented to him and asked peeps to vote on the top 5. I didn't see any of you listing your issues or voting on the top 5. So if you want to find someone to blame about why your favorite issue isn't on the list then go look in a mirror and you will see the person at fault.

The job of the weaponsmith correspondant isn't to list his or her top problems, it is to solict problems from all weaponsmiths and then to present them to the devs. If you can't be bothered to post things of concern to you then don't complain when they aren't included because if no one lists them when the WS correspondant asks for input then they shouldn't be on the list.

That is complete and utter elitist garbage. So what your saying is that a weaponsmith should not be able to participate in the game until they have attained master level. Yea now that's a fun game. This IS the main problem with crafting in SWG. The skill trees do not gracefully advance usefulness of constructed items. That coupled with the majority of the player not understanding how to run a profitable business. Those of us trying to "roleplay" a merchant and actually run a business are completely out in the cold. I can not grow any business until I reach master level. Which means I have tens to hundreds of hours of clicking with no fun in the game. Which pretty much means I have already considered canceling my account after 3 weeks.

My main problem with this list of issues is they are a list of issues for "Master Weaponsmiths" not for "Weaponsmiths". Just because things are loudly complained on the boards does not mean they are the biggest issues facing the craft. Someone either an SOE employee or the correspondent needs to work towards the root causes not the biggest pet peeves. I am not denying their are major bugs in high level crafted items or utility pieces used by high level crafters (factories). But where are the issues about the completely non fun nature of playing a low level weaponsmith.

If people always listed to and fixed the things that got the most complaints then every missions would pay 100000k and every resource would have 1000 in each stat listing. All reasources would exist and factories will take no time to craft 100 items.

Just because people complain about an issue does not mean it IS an issue.

If you had read what master weaponsmiths said when Diablo first posted issues, you would have seen that most of us said that the current resource shifting was fine. For some reason, even though most everyone said it was a decent system, he decided to put it #1 on his list. So next time you decide to flame people about disliking our correspondent, you should read the posts and realize we have valid reasons.
