Thread: Power hammers
5.4 is my best speed for power hammers. I've been using Kammris Iron with SR in the high 700s (all I had available) and copper with SR around 750 (once again the best I had available). The best adv. reinforcement cores Ihave made are 40min 40max using Dolovite Iron with a UT of about 800 (best I have available). I just purchased 20k of 905 SR Kammris, but I'm going to wait before using it until I can find some better copper and/or Dolovite Iron.

BTW: It is possible to get a positive to-hit modifier on power hammers, also.

If you are a real swordsman then you should have 2h speed sea's to some extent, these + master swordsman should let you swing a 6.0 power hammer to the speed cap. This comment will be taken as an insult. Take your class prejudice and get back to the game. Its unneeded here. Real swordsman or dabbler makes no difference in wanting things faster. You all talk about cap well thats only good for a mster not someone who is starting down the road. I dont have alot of time to play so I dont want to be able to go take a piss before my next swing is through. I am looking for is this speed possible on the hammer not insults on what a Master heavy swordsman can do for I am not a master yet. thanks for the unwanted advice. As for the rest thatnks for the comments and knowledge. Powerups unfortunatly are outta the question. Slices I of course knew would have to be the way to get it really low. Wasnt aware I could get a 5.4 to a 3.6 or so. with that knowledge I might be able to get lucky on one or 20.Thanks for the helpful advice to those who were not class prejeduice to share valuable info.
I truly didn't mean to insult you, but if you aren't a master or don't have speed sea's i would suggest using the scythe or 2h curved sword if you can. Power hammers will only be useful if 1, you can hit something, and 2, you can swing it fast enough to discount the naturally slow speed. You question has been answered over and over again, 5.4/5.3 speed is going to be tops, I am simply saying if you want to use a PH like most devoted swordsman do, you will need to get speed SEAs.
Hey there I'm a master swordsman and I know this isn't what you want to hear because that's what you're trying to become but I'd still like to comment.
You don't want a powerhammer until you're a master and even then you won't hit the 1s cap unless you are very lucky in hunting NS elders and they drop you real fat speed tapes. Let me do the calc I did myself this morning when I was figuring out if I could get my hammer speed up to the speed of my TKM friends...
5.4s (what I have at the moment nothing special but the fastest I've seen without a speed slice) times 3, attack time... 16.2 seconds hehe. Ok master level gives you 75 twohanded speed. 16.2*0.25 is 4.05s per hit. To get that to 1s you need to bring your speed up to... 94. 16.2*0.06=0.972 which is the first moment you cap out. That's 19 points of speed skill tapes.
If you have the money to buy those tapes, you're still better off with a scythe (cheaper) and just have a nice speed sliced PH for those kinetic immune mobs.

The powerhammer you are looking for doesnt exist.
I say you are mistaken. I know several with speed under 4 on there PH that they use mainly fopr PVP. Like I said at one poiint I was unaware that I could get a 3.7 froma 5.2 speed hammer. I was unsder the impression it had to be in the range of 4.7 or so to get it under 4 speed. And thats all I am looking for is to get one under 4.

The best powerhammer I have made on my smith without any enhancements is 485 max damage at 4.9 speed. That was with no moderates and the end result was 97%. With certain Geonosian enhancements I believe that a low 4 speed with max damage around 500 is possible on some servers. However, without a slice I don't think a sub-four second speed is possible. Even with a 33% speed slice it took my best to 3.1 speed.
THis is exactly what i been looking for. So it IS possible then hehe. DO you happen to remmeber the stats on the materials you were using? and what materials? Im not a weaponsmit( obviously) but I do have access to miners and I would love to hunt this stuff to help enlighten the kauri weapinsmiths best to what else can be done.
