Stupid d4mn boards. If SOE can't even run a message board right, what does it say about the game system they are tying to run

Dev' Eloper uses Combat Balance Reschedule on you for 6-8 months worth of damage points!
You shoot your mouth off on the forums but miss! You post constructively but it is deleted!
Ubercred It'Duper tips you Cr 27,000,000,000,000,000,000 but you evade it!
Dev' Eloper uses Publish 10 Vendor Fix on you for 55 item limit damage! Your vendors and 12 months of work have become incapacitated!
You use Cancel Account Button on Dev' Eloper for $15 p/m of damage!
Dev' Eloper tries to use JTL Expansion pack on you for $50 worth of damage on you but misses!

You use windows sys32 fdsk utility on StarWars Galaxies program files for 2.4Gb of damage! StarWars Galaxies: An Empire Developed is no more!!

I wonder if they reintroduced the NPC uber weapon drop bug that was fixed a really long time ago.

Next time you go to the corvette, use /open on the NPCs and see if any of them have weapons like that. If yes, that stuff's not supposed to be dropping.

nope that is fixed. you can still see the weapon on them but when you try to take it nothing happens. and when the ncp dies the weapon disapears cuz that container is 0/0.

The bug was quite rare and most people never had it happen. If these loot weapons are white-name items with no Exceptional/Legendary tags, it's probably the NPC weapon drop bug again.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

they have been going down this road for a while now, i know it isnt exactly a big proplem right now, and a lot of you will aruge that it wont be for this and that reason, but think about what it will be like a year down the road if they continue adding all the new weps in the game as limited schems and new uber drops (and they have been increceing both of these pretty frequently) and not adding any new weps to our lines...

i can remember lots of new added drops appearing and lots of new limited schems, cant remember the last new wep schem they added to me, surprises me that so many people dont see this pattern or choose to ignore it.

First of all this is comeing from a combat aspect. I craft a lot, but I never never done weaponsmith.

I agree that a weapon like that dropping isn't the best in the world. I also know that for all the NPCs I have killed in the 8 months I've played I have yet to find a weapon off one that I would ever use. If the 1 in 20 is accurate I can see an issue here. I'd feel the same way if a new food was being dropped somewhere that was double the bonus of anything I made. Its not that food will affect my sales at all, its more that I now can't produce the best possible because the game is doing that on its own.

The issue comes in with rewards people expect from their professions. Crafters I would say desire being useful and helping others do what they want to do. Looted items take that idea away because the crafters aren't involved. However on the other side, a combat prof wants to see some gains out of their skills. Mainly 2 ways to get this. First is through PvP. This is a personal gain in that your name might mean something afterwards. People might respect you for your pvp skills. The second type is wealth, basically in the form of loot recieved from things killed with your weapon skills.

As a combat prof, it definatly gets old going out and kill creatures and harvesting meat/hide. I come back and sell that and start all over again. With the exception of credits I didn't gain anything(I'm assuming no exp gain because I would be a Master). If I find a rare loot item that makes it more worthwhile. I now have something tangible I gained.
