Understood.
I was incorrectly assuming that when filling in generic resources, the calculation would be done using the stats cap for the resource you were using. Instead, it will be using a min of 1 and a max of 1000.

Is this similar to the changes made on Crafting Day? My memory is hazy, but it seems to me they did something similar to this back then.

Well that explains it.
Ditanium steel on Shadowfire has only ever spawned between 785 and 863 SR. So the 785 SR steel I was using is effectively useless as a named resource, and each point in the 785-863 range is worth an enormous amount as compared to before.
Not sure I like it, but thanks for clearing it up anyway.

I do agree with this I had 800+ SR ditanium steel making the cryo lance I believe it was and it treated it as if it were in the 300 to 400 range. It is probably a malfunction that doesn't cause any harm to the weapon cause I made a cryo lance with 500+ max dmg and 50 something cold dmg. It will take alot of getting use to but hopefully we can pool together some average base standards for new weaponry. I just hope that if there is a weapon dmg cap the devs will raise it to the most powerful weapon that has been looted/made on the server for that particular weapon type. Or just nullify it all together.

We are having this problem in AS too. The bar seems to determine the outcome.
