Thread: Problem with Ditanium steel, schematic errors, or just me?

I was trying to make a couple of the new polearms which require ditanium steel. In both cases the resource was treated as if it had a 0 stat (black bar). Only SR mattered on these weapons, and it was around 785. I got tiny experimental ranges to deal with, maxing below 20% thanks to this supposedly terrible steel.

Using it in spots that called for "steel" or just "metal" worked fine, though the bars did appear slightly lower than I had expected.

So far I've found this blackbarred problem in the cryo lance, electric polearm, and the old vibro lance and vibro axe (2-handed weapon) schematics. Anybody else seeing this behavoir, or do I just have a bad batch of Ditanium?


edit: Ok, this problem has become stranger. I tried another stash of Ditanium I had with a SR of 818 and tried remaking the cryo lance. This time I did get a bar next to the resource slot, but it was at about 30%, just a small yellow line. The "metal" slot in the same item had the full 80% green line you'd expect. There's no indication in the schematic that anything besides SR matters, so I'm a bit baffled on this one.

The only significant difference between the two steels is that the first one has an oq around 630, and the latter around 950. Everything else is pretty similar, within 100 points either way.

Ive noticed the bars are showing incorrectly, but im also noticing that the product being made when the bar shows low is rather BAD indicating the bar is showing correctly but the required stats may have been changed.. anyone else noticing this at all?


Edit: Also had same issue of 3 slots using same resource showed 3 completely different bars, 1 red, 2 green of different heights.

Yer me to trying to make adv sword core.. It seems to be any below 800 as mine was 785 and a friend loaned me some with 853 I think it was.



Mine came up red his was a full bar (Same schem) So its balzzed like everything else.

I found it today in the morning while crafting Adv Proj Rifle Barrel - almost the same Axidit Iron shown with very different results.

and I still got Stocks with dmg modifiers? anybody else?

Agreed. It looks like a very intentional change.


If I understand you correctly, this means we need to re-examine how we deal with non-named resources. The trick now is not to use the resource with the highest stat, but rather to use the resource that is closest to its cap for that stat.


For example, suppose the stat is SR. Using a high quality steel with a SR of 940 and a cap of 980 would be worse than using a low quality steel with a SR of 340 and a cap of 350.


Would you agree?
