Thread: Seem like your not making money sometimes??
Plus you will have 20 lots, so you can put more lots into Harvesting resources. People dont seem to realize how luicrative....but time consuming, and boring.....Being a Resource dealer can be.
The weapons market isn't just "uber" or "base"; there's a wide middle ground there for enhanced weapons. Not everyone can afford 2-5 million credits (or more) for a double/triple capped gun, but most WS seem to be chasing that small market. Spend millions for power cells, sell weapon for millions, then spend most of what you made to buy the next set of power cells. It's a vicious cycle.
Instead of spending millions upon millions for enhanced power cells and uber gorax/krayt ehanchers, look for the cheap bargins in low and middle rate krayt tissue. I regularly find bargains on the bazaar for tissues even up to +80 or so.
For example, I often make ALRs using base krayt tissues and a form-fitting stock. Sure, the SAC sucks but the damage is pretty decent. At 250K a pop they usuallysell within aday or two. I'm not making millions per gun, but it's close to 200K profit for each one. In terms of profit percentages per weapon, I'd wager it's better than chasing thecontinually shrinking"uber" market--because you know every one of those uber guns gets ADK'd.

Oh I can only dream of living on a server where powercells do not go for 10 to 20 million a set.. Bria the overinflated, constantly incapacitated server.. It's hard to make big credits as the volume of weapons sold has diminished.. ADKs and people only buying one time (their fav weapon of choice, saving up and expending the credits once at best) makes it even tougher..
In days gone by, u would sell loads of lesser priced weapons and at a very quick rate.. that was a way to make a decent income but alas its all gone now....

I think the only way to make decent profit... well, what I would class as decent is from enhanced weapons.
I do sell a lot of un-enhanced stuff, but the profit I can make from 1 enhanced weapons can be as much as 2-3 weeks of non-enhanced stuff.
I am always hunting for bargains, they are so easy to find using vendor search now. Couple of tips I would give.
1) Do notignore krayt tissues, a lot of people think they are junk now since the power cells came out. I can buy a set of 4 120ish tissuesand make a ALR and slice it for damage to 1183.I check the bazaar and vendor search every time I log on for sets of 4 120+and higher and I have bought them for 20k - 1.5mil, even if I spend 1.5mil I can still make 2mil profit easily. Same for HLR's.
2) Pre-slicing enhanced weapons does help them sell, I have a smuggler alt so its easy for me.I do notice my sliced enhanced weapons always sell quicker then my non-sliced - especially rifles.
3) Try making some enhanced Melee Weapons, as many Weaponsmiths tend to ignore these, there is usually a market for them - You can buy cubes and pasters pretty cheap if you shop around and easily make a good profit from PH's etc. Again, pre-slicing them does help.
4) Bazaar and Vendor Search > Trade Forums. I rarely buy enhancements from the trade forums unless its a good bargain. I tend to find that I can beat forum prices nearly every time if I just do a quick search. At worst you can get them at slightly cheaper rates, at best you can get some crazy bargains.
5) Having well stocked non-enhanced vendors helps bring in a steady trickle of cash and also helps advertise your enhanced products.
6) Branch out a little, have maybe a loot vendor or a resource vendor etc - as again this will help bring people in who will also check out your weapons. LightSabre Resource kits are a good way to make cash as they are always popular and as a WS you will find you most likely have the best of all the resources you will need aside from the Culsion Gas.

Lets face it, people like damage and dmg pups work off the minimum damage..so, ultimately, the dmg w/ a pup will be higher.
The consumer bypasses my 4 million dollar guns often (or perhaps im reaching folks who don't have that much discretionary income), but regardless...the 1.5-2 million dollar guns sell. Sure, they're not as fast because you needed to use 3 more points in efficiency than you could of somewhere else, but most don't care cuz they run out of action spamming 2 specials back to back anyway.
I save my turbo loot for the "collector"...basically, a trando rifle or something like that. The uniqueness of the gun if it's well built will bring some profits in. Although, if you purchased the barrel, enhanced cells and looted scopes, it will cost ya 10 mil to make it. On our server, that rifle will sell for 15 mil.
That's my opinion on the matter at least, and of course, I'm sure it's different for everyone
I play on the same server you do... zukem just tried selling a damage/sac capped ADKd trando rifle he got 100k + an ADK.
I have made 5 damage capped/SAC capped trando rifles... the most I ahve ever gotten was 2 million... I make damage/SAC capped ALRs all the time best offer I got is ussually 500k-1 million.
I make a lot of middle range weapons aswell out of tissues, that noone else seems to want.
Sadly I dont have enough time on my hand to fill the marked there is for middle range weapons, but they do yield a good profit and I feel good about providing niice weapons at a price the newer people can afford aswell.
Granted it is not uber, but IMO uberness is something you should work hard to get, but they are nice and I believe people are happy with them ![]()
