What if they changed it to a 1-2% stat bonus?

That would be more acceptable - although I still think that Resources should be left alone.

I can see how they want to add some content to the entertainers, those guys got majorly screwed when they lost BF. I say add in the specialized buffs so that certain professions provide different buffs and that it is near impossible to AFK those buffs. Make a reason to bring back the ATK entertainers. Some of my best times in this game were those down times just hanging around the cantinas chattin up the dancers.

If the dev team feels like they HAVE to mess around with resources, how about adjusting the resource spawn tables so that better resources spawn more frequently? I mean, I can't remember the last time a great platinite/polysteel spawned on Shadowfire.

ok, i am missing something. here is the listing for entertainer changes:

Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician

Entertainer professions will now be able to apply non-combat profession specific inspiration buffs.
Inspiration buffs should now give the proper bonus to crafting experience.
Typing /flo will once again expand to the /flourish command.
Fire Jets 2 and Bunduki 2 icons should display correctly now.
Twi'leks should no longer have unused innate skill modifiers.
The Dance Floor command has been renamed to Floor Lights (/floorLights) to avoid conflicts with the /dance emote.
Entertainer experience should now use the proper XP point limits.
Inspiration Buffs should now properly use an entertainer's Music or Dance Enhancement skill modifiers.
Music Wound Healing and Dance Wound Healing skill mod tapes should convert to Music and Dance Enhancement respectively.
Test Center - Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician - Adding entertainer enhancement bonus when performing in an entertainer specialized city.
Test Center - Dance props will now be unequipped if you revoke a skill and are no longer certified to use them.

show me where this resource buff is. if not here, show me the thread link where a Dev said it is coming. if that's not where it is and it is unlisted, was it just something someone found on TC? if so, shoot me a PM with the steps needed (name of the buff, etc) so i can get in there and test it real quick. until the fill the position, i am still the WS Cor, and yes, summer, i am still around. i will be here until at least sept 1.

cool. ok, here is what i need from you guys. to make the point, we need to show how many players will be capping that do not have top end resources to effectively fight this.

1. talk to the mid-end crafters on your server
2. find out their resource stockpiles and stats that are not top end
3. start creating lists of weapons that currently cap at 92% or higher with non-top end resource
4. wash, rinse, repeat as necessary for our crafting brothers and sisters in other professions that will be affect by this (for example, this means little for a tailor, but a severe market hit for a Bio Eng).

the only way to get them to change the % is show them that this is just too good. my recommendation on the corr boards has been a change to 2%-3%.

Instead of nerfing this change to something that makes entertainers unhappy, I suggest requesting something like an increase of the assembly cap to 35% for resources that suddenly buff up to > 100%.

This particular fight is not one that can be won - they want to stop the hoarding everyone on this forum does to an incredible extent, and the other option is decay.

The above sounds like a good idea. Instead of the % increase for stats give a % bonus to assembly. ie when it starts at 28 make it start 5% higher. Gives overall a better weapon as well as reducing points needed while keeping high-end resources necessary.

Unfortunately, shug, the point is to make High-End resources un-necessary. SOE is unhappy with/incapable of handling a database for resources with enough power to keep track of all the thousands and thousands and thousands of resources and piles of resources we keep.... They want to slow down hoarding. So they see the options as a: nerf the use ofhigh end resources that spawned FOREVER ago, or b: initiate resource decay. A nerf will definitely come one way or another.... The only question is how. At least they aren't screwing around with the spawn equations - THAT would be a nightmare.

Another problem that I see with this is you can only have one of these buffs at a time. With 4 diff buffs available for assembly/experimentaion/resources or crafting experiance. You will be forced to craft your schem right there in the cantina, asking for a new buff every cple min's.

If SOE seriously want to stop hoarding whats the point in being a WS? The only advantage the high end WS have is that they have been around for a long time, sure 30k kits can get you close but its time that makes you a better smith, those spawns from long ago harvested, bought or wangled... I didn't spend a year and so much time just to be screwed over. Someone have the url to ebay? I might as well sell my toon and cash for a few hundred quid and start over and get to the same spot in bout say... a month? oooh why not?
